Fair enough but u weren't the least concerned when he was withdrawn early from the game with a head knock given his history?

I didn't like reading it.  Unlike some, I really rate him as a talent and don't like seeing more potential setbacks.  But I didn't start thinking the worst.  More likely another hiccup.

Then I started reading posters suggesting his career may be over, or he's not cut out for AFL footy, or he needs to take 4 weeks off, etc. etc.  This is the type of ill-informed speculation that grates on me.  

I prefer to wait for the facts.  

I think the club is very cautious with head knocks and treats their players conservatively.

Herald Sun reporting (from Josh Mahoney interview on Triple M) that he is fine and playing future not under threat.

Mahoney mentioned it was on the minor end of the spectrum and he is in contention to play next weekend.

Agreed but he really can't afford any more in the foreseeable future. This mainly for his sake but also a team does not want to be a player short early in a game.

Could be VERY interesting. If you can slide him into the team as a swingman, then the need for Smith is lessened. Could be the guy who takes on third tall in top heavy sides, and slide forward to lead up and take some grabs. Starting to get excited about him now. I love a late pick KP player who gets 3-4 years without pressure, and blossoms cos of it. Imagine if Watts got that kind of time to figure the game out.

We can compare and contrast Bugg's output with Kent's, but not the psychology of their responses. You usually provide a dissenting rational voice on these sorts of runaway conclusions. We have no idea if Kent cracked the sads, but soon enough it'll be considered a fact around here that Dean Kent has a propensity for sulking. Maybe he was rattled by Gus going down, and Bugg is just a heartless [censored] and selfish team-man? Who knows.

Thanks KC and all posters, great to get the win, sounds like Bugg played an exceptional game for four quarters and should work his way back into the side if he keeps that form up, sorry for Gus we need him back in the side and running through the mid field. To be clear, I wasn't implying that there was any merit whatsoever in the assertion that Kent had cracked the sads - I agree it's probably BS.  Just arguing the point that if he had cracked the sads, I didn't agree with the "who could blame him" call.

That's simply not true, you're confusing concussion with a head knock. Concussion is a specific condition with specific symptoms. Not all head knocks lead to concussion, e.g., the knee to the head that Brayshaw received last AFL game.

So not to continue this derailment of this thread into concussion talks, but the hit on Brayshaw was after he had desposed of the ball and Casey will look to get footage to present to the MRP to hopefully get some kind of repercussions to what was a dirty hit in a side that reportedly played dirty all game.

That's pretty poor as some of the local comps now have it from all games...surely the VFL should be ahead of the game but more and more it appears to be a tired competition.

I know this won't be popular but maybe it's time for the AFL to cut ties and work out a true 2nd tier competition to reflect the AFL season.

they do make some strange scheduling decisions

some clubs do take some of their own videos, but not multiple views, good positioning or good quality, generally more long shots too
