Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Steve, it's a Richmond home game and a Melbourne make-up game so 70,000 + 40,000 potential punters before the public gate.  If the weather's fine (latest forecast is more promising than a few days ago) they mightn't be far from 80k.

Perhaps you're right. I hope we turn out in strong numbers too.

I'm not sure it does 'steve'...

The numbers say we are playing a high possession game.

Any team that plays that game style struggles in the wet.

Hope it's dry.

Those numbers in my eyes are disproportionate and are not a true reflection of how we want to play. Consider the overuse of our handball for one..

In the wet, the skill level becomes much more even between any two sides and is therefore a battle of contested ball winning ability.

And I'd back our midfield brigade to win that and win it well.

FWIW word on BF is that Martin will be named but a late withdrawal. Their source, someone inside Tigerland.

Tigerland is playing their typical BS games. He'll play, even if not 100%.

They can rest Riewoldt too, then it will be even with Gawn and Lewis out.

Anyways, great to see Hibberd will be making his MFC debut.  I hope Melksham is rested, not only is he out of form but its a risk playing them both after their year out of the game (just look at Essendon the last two weeks carrying all those banned players who look cooked).

Yep, just swipe your membership card. A word of warning though GA seats will be limited.

Caracella from the Tuggers sounded anything but positivie that Dusty will play. Risk vs Reward situtation for them I spose. Lets just hope they are cautious and he sits out. Would be a massive advantage for us.

Hoges and Hibbo are big ins for us.

Looking back on that cringe worthy third quarter against Freo and for that matter the even more disastrous  last minute or so of the final quarter we need to work on exiting our back half under pressure.

Given that it is a set play there must be some series of combinations that can be run to the advantage of the player(s) who know the sequence in advance.

In that third quarter the ball was continually locked in the Freo forward 50 even when we had kick outs let alone when we took the quick kick option

Needed to go man on man in their forward 50 especially to handle the bail out kick around the arc IMO DJ. We allowed the opposition to zone off and failed to put them under enough pressure and compete in the marking contests when the ball lucked out their way, which unfortunately was most of the time for a good 10 minutes or so. They took a number of uncontested marks from our bail outs, controlling this section of the game for too long. Compete one on one and either mark it ourselves or bring the ball to ground and get the stoppage going further out from goal rather than the opp getting the lucky receive by zoning off and getting it straight back in to targets or top of the square for even more pressure.

When we did finally get it up our end at one point for a possible breather or maybe get one back ourselves to stop the rot, Trac made a huge error, deciding to flick the ball back in right on the boundary in the forward pocket punt road end instead of disguising it out or gathering the ball and taking the tackle for the stoppage or rolling over the boundary for the throw in. Freo ran it straight back out and up to their end and I think they may have even goaled again from it. A rookie error that hurt us badly at a really critical moment IMO.

Had no idea one of the old CGS boys was a coach at Richmond. Great little video though. Our website would struggle to put together a video that was as exciting about us as that. Haha.

Was at training no Bugg Weideman or Kent    Tim Smith and JKH both there  asked Bull directly and he said Yes, missed JKH   not giving anything away cameras everywhere and the Richmond guy   recognised him from the few times watched their training

Doubt they will risk him , groins are not to be messed with and since its a Monday game theyd need to get him up for the game after (Sat or sun.)

If they play him with a sore groin and he aggravates it, the microwaves will be on overdrive at Punt Rd.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
