Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Right now he's the answer.

No, he's not.

Weideman averaged 10.5 disposals, 3.5 marks, and 1.5 goals per game with Hogan in rounds 1 and 2.  He also jumps at high balls better than Pedersen.

I'd prefer Weideman.  What will be will be.

If Weideman is injured, I still wouldn't select Pedersen.

Surprised people are giving Hibberd another week. From what I saw of the game today his kicking off half back was great. Unless we'd like to handball in circles inviting the opposition to take it off us and kick goals for another week, he comes in.

If he's considered fit enough he'll come in. We need good disposers of the footy.

FMD Pro he looked like a fish out of water last Saturday. I doubt even Hogan can resuscitate  him. Give him a spell at  Casey to regain some confidence.

I'm OK if he's dropped.  Just don't bring in Pedersen.

Play a small forward-line.

Casey Demons   4.4  6.6  6.10  8.12 (60)

GOALS:
Williamstown: Gibbons 2 Currie 2 Masters 2 Marcon  Cavarra  Cordy  Dunell  Siposs  Dorgan
Casey Demons: Scott 4 Brayshaw  Fritsch  Pedersen  Trengove

BEST:
Williamstown: Marcon Meese Fahey Masters Wheeler Greiser
Casey Demons: Hibberd Trengove Kennedy Smith Brayshaw

Going off by this Hibberd was BOG with Trenners and Kennedy the next 2. If Pedersen doesn't come in then id do Kennedy for Hannan.

He also averages 0.8 tackles a game (3 tackles in his 7 games .. and is a fish out of water at the moment..) if you actually watched Pedersen in the VFL you would of seen a CHF who can take a mark as well as Ruck and still have 25 touches.. probably more than the Weid has had all year.

Hogan for Weideman, no brainer

Hibberd for Melksham, no brainer

If we want to go big, Pedersen for Hannan, otherwise, one more week for Hannan, with the possibility of Brayshaw, JKH or BK taking his spot in coming weeks.

Hogan for Weid. It's clear Weid needs a spell. Regardless of all else, his energy and intensity has flat-lined. Hannan can play his role.

I think Hibberd for Melksham is fair. We can't give unnecessary opportunities to their smalls (but we will have to work out another way to cover them - not Salem).

And Pedo in as a utility to hold our structures - covering the ruck, up forward for Hogan or Watts up the ground, or down back if we need a floater or outlet. I guess that means Bugg comes out (although I thought he was decent on Saturday - a Bugg game).

Ins: Hogan, Hibberd, Pedersen

Outs: Weideman, Melksham, Bugg

I'd consider just dropping Hannan and bringing in Pedersen. I'd be surprised if Weeds is dropped if fit. I can actually seem him lifting on the big stage and proving a lot of people here wrong.

So who makes way for Hogan?

It seems to me that the longer Pedersen is out, the better a player he becomes. A bit like Frost who after being pumped up on here since pre-season reminded us all on Saturday just how ordinary he is.
If not selected by about Round 15 the old Pedo will be having comparisons to Carey

He is whole-hearted cannon fodder. He gives effort and has the (very) occasional good game. And while he's in, Hogan gets double-teamed as Pedo gets little respect for the opposition. I'd rather have kept Dawes - he may have struggled to mark but at least he ran to decent spots and drew a defender away from Hogan

Are you on drugs?

Ben Kennedy barely touched it and he did he butchered it or turned it over.

Brayshaw worked into the game and used his hands to effect.. Kennedy had about as much gut run as Sylvia at freo..

26 possessions equals barely touched it?  Ok.

Ben K butchered the ball today...shame, as I am a fan...

Pedo won't have to give us much to produce more than Weed. Our expectations are not high! (No criticism of Weed - he's just too young/not ready). I just want someone who will compete in the air and lay some tackles. The added benefit of pedo is that he can give some ruck relief instead of Watts.

Amen! Some sense!

Pedo comes in produces more than Hannah and Weid combined and releases Watts to only play fwd.

Stupid suggestion.

Watts is finally dominating up forward and keeping us in games.

Leave him forward.

Which means Pedo needs to come in to help Jake with the ruck work.

Agree...

Hannan is playing as a de facto 3rd tall at the moment so it makes sense he makes way for Hogan.

Got his hands to the ball a few times and let it slip, can't afford that at AFL level.

Melksham was poor; the only thing that might save him is the Tiges have a bit of pace in their forward line now, but he's gone for mine.

Hibberd's kicking will be a bonus.

We really miss a kid who has only played 15 minutes of footy, Smith (son of)...would add a bit more balance down back.

Lewis is probably the next one up...the following week.

...and by then lets hope Brayshaw has turned the corner and Trenners keeps knocking on the door.

For me, Bugg out, Hib in. Hannan out, Hogan in.

weids prob stay in due to Goody's comments pre game.

Milkshake stays to play on the small Tigers players and this frees Salem up to play where he should, in the bloody middle not on the half back, also would help to get Vince outta there as he shouldn't be there either.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
