Weideman will be a player, but he finds it hard without Hogan.  A week at Casey won't do him any harm.

I like Hannan, but a couple of games at Casey won't harm him either.

Could make an argument for Brayshaw instead of Bugg, but I think Bugg gives more versatility.

Especially if we need someone to sit on & annoy hell out of Fyfe.

Brayshaw will be a far better player than Bugg, but right now i think Bugg might offer a bit more.

I'm happy for Brayshaw to build up some real form and force his way back into the team.  The next time Brayshaw gets in I don't want him coming out again.

Brayshaw forced his way onto the team round 1 in his first season. He was best on ground in all the Casey lead up matches.

I think one of the posters on an opposition fan site said something along the lines of Brayshaw ruined the game because he just kept getting the footy.

We need to keep him at Casey until he recaptures that dominant form.

He hasn't quite been the same since the head knocks.  The young player running around in our defeat of Geelong in 2015 just isn't quite there at the moment.  Anyone who doubts Brayshaw's bona fides only has to have another look at that game.  I don't know if it's a confidence thing or being played in that half-forward position, but he doesn't look as hard or as sharp.

Like you, I'm happy for him to play half the year at Casey if it means he gets back to playing the way we know he can.

He set us alight in 2nd quater in the Collingwood game that year as well.

After a week of deliberation, my final changes are:

Out: Gawn, Weideman, Hannan

In: Spencer, Pedersen, Bugg

Judging by this thread, this seems a pretty standard set of changes, so no doubt it will be way off.

I am not sure playing a good game against Geelong is the be all ProDee.

I remember someone else having a blinder against Geelong and he turned into the biggest flop so far of the 21st Century

He's had more than that, though.  He played the last seven games of 2016 and had a positive impact, especially as he was able to spend more time in the midfield.  He averaged a tick over 20 disposals and around 5 tackles a game, and 8 of those disposals averaged out to be contested.  While they aren't stats that will blow you away, when you consider that he came back from concussion issues, it shows the quality he has.  

This year he's been stuck on a half forward flank and not given many opportunities to play through the midfield.  As ProDee says, I'm happy for him to spend a little time at Casey rediscovering that form.

Until he sees sustained quality performances with his own eyes he won't believe.

What worries me is he seems to be able to play one position and that is it.

When he comes back, I'd be playing him at half back. This is where he has played his best footy. And given how we use our half backs as essentially wingers, extra mids or as the term may be, inside sliders, he's perfectly suited to that role as he hits the contest hard and is a beautiful penetrating kick once he gets it. He could be really dangerous in that position.

It's all well and good to demand your players have versatility, but he's never been good in the half forward role. But some of that might be a confidence thing at this stage, so play him in a position where he can gain some confidence first and then push him forward if you must.

We seem to forget that the Dockers have an appalling record at the "G", unlike in Perth. We start a long way in front from that alone. It would be a Dons/Blues loss, circa 2016, if we were to lose this one. You would hope we would over that. A real test for the maturing group.
