Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

If they want our 2017 & 18 first round picks, fine. But we want their 2018 first round pick included in the Lever deal.

In: LEVER & ADELAIDE 2018 FIRST ROUND PICK.

what's the hurry? we made a generous offer. we stick to our guns or it's the nd

This is absolute rubbish.

No way do the Tigers swap "their two late first round picks and our pick 10." They may have just won a premiership but they are not a charity.

And if you read my post you’d understand that was not my implication. Simply that it would be a deal involving those picks. And that we were going to ask the question.

If you’re going to attack someone’s posts it’s best to know what you’re talking about.

Hmmm, can you imagine how stupid the Crows would look if the Tigs agreed to swap their 2 x late 1st picks for pick 10, and we kept our second round pick?

Why wouldnt they have their own meeting with the tigers, swap 10, and keep our pick 27 to themselves?

Strange.

The deal would involve those picks but it would not be a straight swap. Its just something we will discuss in order to get picks capable of getting the deal dine

An update on the lever deal. The crows won’t budge on the two first round picks deal so the club will be having a meeting with Richmond to discuss an exchange involving their two late first round picks and our pick 10.

The crows have indicated that those two picks would satisfy the deal if the tigers are willing to trade them.

With all due respect you wrote. No mention of other picks - none at all. It was not till after you mentioned the other picks.

Just for the record both clubs had a very cordial fishing trip today.

“ an exchange involving their two late first round picks and our pick number 10” vs an exchange of their two first round picks and pick number 10.

Not that it matters, we all just want the deal done

Agreed. From Walker to Burton and probably many more around those two. They force a 21 yr old to declare his intentions 4 weeks out from the finals so they could up an offer to Mcgovern. He takes care of the club with his honesty when he could have easily stayed mum.... and they  shame the [censored] out of him, then bag him in the press. Im not saying any club would be happy to lose a quality young player ( we wouldnt either ) but the way they have handled themselves sends out a very reflective message about the club I reckon. No wonder everyone wants to leave!

So i had a look at pick 10's in the last 10 years of national drafts, this is who clubs got:

Chris Egan
Marcus Drum
Nathan Brown
Dangerfield
Phil Davis
Melksham
Gorringe
Sumner
Cockatoo
Nathan Freeman

Makes me feel a bit more at ease knowing that only 2 of those players  (Danger and Davis) justified their drat position. So if we have to cough up more, so be it. Lever is a ready made gun for the next 9 years

Pick 7 seems always to be the one to have.

Melbourne should play hardball.  Crows have treated Lever like siht.  We should re-arrange contracts so we can front-end him a whopping amount that other clubs cannot match in 2018.  Let him go to draft.

One thing better than Lever?

Lever and 10 and 27.  Worth the risk in my book.

That is my take.  I aint KB.

We don't want to play games on this one. Hold firm re a first and second round pick and negotiate a swap of late picks and deal will be done. We have a good reputation for being fair and transparent during trade period and if we muck around it could backfire.

First class, nice work Snake, could have taken a little less cash so the club hired something better than the acoustic duo we had to put up with during the B&F.

Trade Radio played audio of Tex Walker teeing off on Lever on Triple M Adelaide. Did not hold any punches. Said he has chosen "money over success".

Had some respect for Adelaide as a club but they are not handling this situation with much dignity,

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
