Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

MRP for Hogan and Lewis

After watching Jordan Lewis on 360, it is blatantly obvious that he was retaliating something we haven't seen. I am not excusing the action, but it is a shame the MRP don't rewind another 30-40 seconds on all of their Camera angles.

Odds on. Cripps and Rowe will both play this week.

Next time we play Carlscum we must retaliate smarter with more discretion.

Do not forget.

Sorry that's what I was wondering... imagine if Cripps gets taken out with a bump like the one Varcoe hit Dalhaus with in rnd 1. In of itself the hit might not have caused an injury but with the existing fracture it turns into a more serious injury. How can the medical report play any serious role in the MRP decision making process...

the MRP should be judging the act,not the consequence of the act if they are to ever be seen to be consistent.

Agree.

I get annoyed when media types like Robbo blatantly distort facts, like saying that when Jessie hit Rowe, Rowe wasn't looking at him.

Not only was he looking at Jessie he was pushing him in the chest when Jessie lashed out.

Also it has been described all week as a strike or punch, until today when it has been admitted on the AFL site to be an open hand.

Just prefer the media to try and be accurate, which clearly is very difficult for them.

It sounds as though your expectations of Robbo might be a bit high. He's a cretin.

I flicked over to his show with Gerard Whately the other night and it was absolute garbage. Their so called 'banter' involved them clamouring to speak over each other, and then Whately went on a 5 minute rant about how Buckley should be given a contract extension this week. Couldn't watch any more after that.

Could one of you experts enlighten me? If Rowe's got concussion, is he even allowed to play this week? Isn't there some kind of compulsory rest system? (Like I lot of you here, I was sitting just a few metres from the incident - Rowe appeared to me to be acting like an Italian soccer player - either that or Hogan is one mighty beast)

How is it any different than a concussion test? In fact in some ways it is worse because it's a hell of a lot more obvious, and negligent as you say.... that said it's the same for Richmond and Martin for that matter,

I was there and heard patty Cripps saying some pretty average things to a couple of our boys at one point, I won't repeat them but I would have smacked him as well.

The match review panel doesn't seem to care about the cause of issues just the way the game appears to spectators

Were they secret codes? Not sure why you wouldn't feel comfortable reporting on what was said?

It was in extremely poor taste and I'm not sure the specifics really matter, I've played footy so I know what sledging is, but what I heard I felt was across the line

I'm obviously just digging for goss. But we've seen it before in the media when a player has verbally crossed the line and it could help to turn public opinion. Which I don't really care about either (but I'd be happy if it ramped up our rivalry with Carlton).

Geez I'm shocked Rowe got selected this week, even though he had severe concussion.

Maybe this could spur the AFL into setting up an inquisition inquiry into Carlton's duty of care to their concussed players. (I know they won't, by the way, but it should).

I think there is an unspoken line and some players cross it just to try and get a reaction like that.

Certainly interesting both players are fine to play this week as i feel the Carlton medical reports played a big part in the length of the bans of our players.

Like others I'm not condoning the actions by our players, but I definitely feel they've done a bit of dodgy on us.

Yep 1st Rowe plays the game out.
Then gets delayed concussion after the game.
And now playing this week.
Same BS with Cripps.

Both Carlton and the AFL just ooze with integrity, don't they.

Gil needs to make a statement - but of course he will have to run a poll first.

We have long memories in footy. I can't wait until we play Carlton again. If they even so much lift a finger on one of our players, I hope we put in a medical report to suggest that our player was severely concussed and has a broken bone, but is still such a machine they will play the following week.

It's a fit up and that's been obvious since Monday.

The integrity-free zone known as the AFL will do jack about it.

Imagine if this had happened to Collingwood, or Essendon, or St Kilda, or Geelong ... the outcry would be tremendous.

As it is, not a whisper.

Why? What is the missing ingredient?

Answer: supporters in the media. Very few supporters in the media. Mostly the media still regard us as unimportant and making up the numbers and can't quite accept what's unfolding under Goodwin. They will have to be dragged kicking and screaming to the reality bus.

There is only one remedy and that is winning games.

Especially round 16.

Agree, I think we'll make Carlton regret their little games with these medical reports, which were clearly falsified/manipulated to suit their agenda.

Carlton have always been sore losers. Now they're not just sore losers, but frequent losers too.

Feels great to see them struggle!

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
