Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Clarry will win the BnF this year... by a country mile. While some of our more senior players are starting to tire out, Clarry is hitting a rich vein of form the past couple of weeks.

His year for a second year player is something this club hasn't seen for a very long time (if ever).

However, his start to the year was way more influential than the 'form' he is in now. I know he is a handball first type of guy, but we need him to be more willing to kick the ball. He is only one of a few that have tried to continually stand up during our form slump of the past month (as admirable as that is), but his reliability also means that it is him we need to count on really imposing himself on the remaining games, as few others seem to want to throw their hat into the ring.

He's gonna need to adopt the mantra of "if it has to be, it's up to me". An indictment on the so-called leaders of our club.

In relation to that discussion about the best midfielders, if we had a Robbie Flower right now our side would be all set. Such a champion.

Kudos to whoever put together this video - sensational viewing.

Jeffy has had a good year overall.

Some of our better players have had significant injuries too. Gawn, Jones, Hogan, Viney. An unfortunately reality of AFL

Zach Merrett set to be suspended and Martin on 2 fines. Could Oliver be a chance to Steven Bradbury the Brownlow?

The way the maggots are Oliver is more likely to get suspended than two of the pets.......

Agree, while Clarry is awesome, he could be more damaging at times, but will quickly give it off instead (which is ok, but may not be as damaging).

Amazing for a kid so young, as he further builds his confidence in his body and full skillset he will break games open.

That is a ripper Luther. Thankyou.  It is difficult to explain to younger supporters how good Robbie was. Footballers today are full time professionals with unbelievable resources and support yet there is not a player running around in a Melbourne jumper at the moment who comes close to matching Flower’s skills.

Proof that the Brownlow is vastly over rated and those that vote on it are clueless jerks.

R Flower should have won at least 3 of these things, but he got none...

Jab Watson whilst on performance enhancing cocktails ? was given one though....

Watched it again.  Robbie was as good as any footballer even the more recent champs ... Dangerfield , Ablett or Judd.  He had skills, goal kicking, high marking, class, courage, leadership AND was always fair.

And he was equally good on either foot.

My favourite Robbie story relates to his first game.  He had to pay to get into the ground because the bloke on the gate didn't believe he was a player.

Dazzle you once said you didn't rate Robbie that highly but I hope these highlights give you a flavour of his skill.  Captained the Big V, says much from a team that was very ordinary at the time.

Love the little ginger nut but I would like him to kick it more, his fast hands are amazing but when he's got time and space he should look to kick it rather than handball.

Other than that he's having a phenomenal year for a guy playing in his second year.

Poetry in motion

whenever I have a shower I always say I'm having a Robbie Flower , because cleanliness is next to Godliness and he was the closest thing to God that I ever knew

I know this is an Oliver thread, but I think already it is ok to speak of him in the same sentence as Robbie Flower.

OMG that clip brings back great memories, especially those first two finals in quarter of a century.  So sad that Robbie played most of his career in a truly uncompetitive series of teams. Deserved multiple premiership medallions and Normies.

Has Clayton Oliver made Nate Jones redundant in the side?

Not at all, Clarry's young and has good hands. Jones is experienced, leads by example, and uses his foot a hell of a lot more.

Jones won't be made redundant until he's ready to retire.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
