Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Saints do look good though, they have the best bunch of marking talls in the league and jack Steven is on fire in the middle, we will need to be in our mettle to beat them, and must win the stoppages and midfield battle.

I hope we have learnt from the last time we played the Aints, and with what we have seen in their JLT games.....just stick someone on Stevens!.....someone....they don't have anyone else of any damaging ability in the middle, so sacrificing 1 player to stop their clearances will win the game.

Carlton is stuffed. So long as SOS remains committed to his idiotic strategy of exchanging high draft picks for GWS rejects who can't get a game, they'll continue to tread water in no man's land.

They need to rip off the band-aid, bottom out and stock up on elite talent while at the bottom. Their current strategy is Richmond-esque -- sustained mediocrity.

Who can stay with him? He is so quick and the second efforts to give and go and receive again are exceptional.

Bernie did the job on Danger and Selwood in 2015.  They didn't get a chance to get the ball let alone go anywhere with it.  He probably can't run with Stevens but he can certainly stop him in his tracks.

Then there is our aptly named, serial pest - Bugg!

And I believe Hibberd doesn't mind having a go...

And if we get desperate, let them pay him some 'close attention' in their part of the ground and at centre bounces.  We now have enough depth to cover a suspension.

And Lewis can join in the party - he knows how to play 'unsociable' footy (but lets not get him suspended).

Except, SOS will need to go too if they're to stock up on elite talent, because he was responsible for drafting all those same GWS rejects the first time.

See I agree with everything else here, mate, but I'm not convinced Bolton can coach.

I watched the Carlton St Kilda replay last night and the thibg that struck me was Carlton's inability to properly spread from any contest. It reminded me so strongly of Melbourne under Neeld and then this was compounded by their basic skill errors.

If they take this form into the season proper, they'll certainly be wooden spooners.

I reckon Vince goes with Steven, it can't go with him for speed but he's good enough to know how to make him accountable and be dangerous himself.

The biggest key to stopping the saints in general is to win the contest

I thought we fell for this Stevens sh## last time we played them, and someone else popped up and crapped all over us, looks like he's been eating muscle sandwiches as well. Put Hibberd on him and tell him to be gentle......

Don't think Luke is under the pump yet. Ikon >>> lala land. The spoon might get used to smack some bums come season end.

Bucks would be closer to the front on that queue me thinks.

On the flip-side, I'm rather troubled by the company we're keeping at the pointy end. The Richmond Football Club team for instance.

The fact that SOS has recruited so many GWS players is a massive concern.

He also managed to stuff a number of high draft picks at GWS, it's just he had so many of them that it didn't really matter too much.

Imagine if he had recruited well. I remember he picked a couple of Victorian boys together who weren't so highly rated in hopes that they would want to stay which might have been just a rumour.

Suns have looked pretty impressive so far against the Dogs, who don't look as though they're trying all that hard.  GAJ has spent most of his time forward and already jagged a couple, he'll be dangerous in that role for them this year.

Plowman and O'Rourke.

Both highly rated but O'Rourke wasn't seen as a top 5 pick at the time... this did make them pass on Toumpas though.

Wins against a struggling Bulldogs outfit and a woeful Carlton will count for little without a good showing against the Eagles.

Have the Dogs put out a decent squad? Iirc they put a reserves team out against the Lions so we've played them at closer to full strength.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
