Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Great win by the team tonight! Always beautiful to get a win over those pricks...

I may be wrong, but did anyone else notice Meg grab her right hammy just before she lost balance and then got cleaned up?

Great game girls especially Cat Phillips for two inspired goals! ?Also great to see Jolly score the last goal of the match (as the last pick in the national draft)! Loved Emma Humphries run and neither Paxman or O'Dea disappointed!

Thought I heard it mentioned in the commentary that we've got 6 or 8 of the team who are under 20. Is that right? If so, it explains their up-&-down form in both games so far. They played more as a team and combined much better in the second half & looked really good.

Yes according to the Pie supporters there were a few reasons they lost

  • Because of the Umpires
  • Because they weren't fit enough
  • Because their ruck woman is tall but not very good but the most reported failing was....
  • They believed that Buckley went into the box after half time.

Strangely I think I respect Buckley more than the average Collingwood supporter does

Wonderful to hear the girls sing the Grand Old Flag after the game. May we hear it many more times this season

First half was terrible. The girls looked so confused in trying to structure up and were making terribly panicked decisions with the ball.

2nd half I thought Hickey in to the midfield changed the game. She crashed in a won a few really nice clearances and then with Pearce, Paxman and O'Dea we had a midfield rotation that was dominating. It also signalled that they weren't afraid of losing the game to Mo Hope and had to go out and win it with the best players around the ball and getting it forward.

Cat Phillips is the female Isaac Smith. Just a power running machine. She's very raw and it won't always work for her but she can work a team over. Emma Humphries is impressive on a wing as well.

When Hickey was freed up the backline still had talent and belief. Clifford, Duryea, Downie, Smith (a gun), Patterson form a really strong unit down back.

The forward line is probably still the weak link. But Anderson looks a really classy forward who is only 19 and will get better. But they probably lack that 2nd tall option as well as a proper small goal kicker. Rocky probably comes in next game to see if she can add a combination of size and speed in the one player.

Why pass it on to Goody? Our 2017 Men's team is never going to be that far behind, (particularly against Collingwood) and I suspect umpire #5 last night won't get a run in the "Little League"!

I don't know that we can attribute last week's performance to 'form'... those were pretty extreme weather conditions, so it was always going to be a bit of a lottery as to who would win.

Id attribute much of last week to instructions...or lack of.( Broke every rule of wet weather footy )

This week showed a bit more nouse...if a bit delayed. Got to get the right players in the right positions ( for the day )

Hopefully much was learned

There's no doubt in my mind that the Collingwood team we saw tonight is crying out for a coaching succession plan

But at Collingwood, changing coach is something you do when you're winning.

Won't be the last time we crush the Pies in 2017.

The one reason to hope Collingwood make the finals - the possibilitiy of beating them four times in a season.

The women's game has opened up a fun new kind of pre-season optimism!

Tuned in when scores were level at 25 points each. So I only witnessed total dominance. Looks like the girls found the line in the sand at half time. Any one notice Eddy's very red face in the crowd? Either a bad case of sunburn or choking in his own hubris.

Its nice that they give the work experience kiddies a go at umpiring (#5).  I hope he is properly coached on that completely inept and biased performance.

The joy at the The Grand Old Flag...  loved it.

And I select ads that say "Getting behind the team that are getting it right"....with a picture of Daisy.  Very Classy.  (Stay Classy, SanDiego).

Confirmed.  He also did the Doggies vs Freo in round 1.

I think it was largely a gameplan issue.  Have a look at how we played last night.  I'm thinking they tried to stick to their plan in the wet and it fell apart.  If they'd abandoned the plan and just played for territory then they would have given a much better account of themselves.

I've just checked the Champion Data scores in the Hun and I was amazed to see that Collingwood's highest scorer was their ruckman, King with 150 points.

She scored this with 2 effective disposals, 0 marks, 1 clearance 3 tackles and 13 effective tap-outs.

How on earth does that give her 150 points, 2nd highest of all players?

She's not the most skilled, but I love O'Dea's physicality.

She was the female version of Pedo, loved her attack on the footy and the opponent.

Overall, it was a super impressive team effort, they were being owned by the Pies in the first half. To not only run all over them but to hold them scoreless for the 2nd half was terrific.

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P
