Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

so why then did foxsport publish a whole article based on an anonymous lawyer

is that how you prefer your news?

Yep, Lawyers do that all the time and magistrates/ judges are just too dumb to see through the charade. ?

I understand the sarcasm..not without cause. There are some Magistrates though whose determinations seem lame beyond belief. This is out in the public now and the various and nefarious players will be wanting to establish the "narrative" ( dont you just love that word...SOoooooo buzzy makes you fuzzy !!)

Not all courts are created equal.

In Geelongs case it seems to be guilt by association...the weapon and bomber.

I agree on the 'look' but were we looking that closely?  Seems to me we were taken aback by how well they started playing.

But let's not forget Dr Ageless was also involved down there and therefore the connection (by default) to Dank.

Nothing will ever come of it though.  Because no one will ever spill the beans - they'd be incriminating themselves and whoever does that rjay?

Yep, everyone shuts up and we may only hear anything different if the players when they all turn about 50  start developing some weird cancers, neurological or heart conditions. Pro wrestling rife with substance abuse for a long time has had an unusualy large incidence of premature deaths when wrestlers reach middle age. A truth that dares not speak its name perhaps.

If we look back over a long time, there is suspicion of teams and players taking "supplements".

Going all the way back to the 70s there were players who became "huge" over summer. There were stories of gymnasiums  supplying more than weight equipment. Perhaps not systemic but body shapes and muscle development told a story. I think in the 90s with the growth of the sports science industry there was a more organized or team approach.

There are no clean skins in this business.

IMO all premierships since say 1964 should be declared null and void

Maybe it isn't.

A number of teams over the journey ( Bomber , Robinson et al ) have mysteriously "re-invented" themselves over a summer. We arent talking a few kg of mass or tone...and certainly no one in these cases dropping weight.

There's a real world out there Saty... you're most welcome to join it.

Bomber Thomson has nothing whatsoever to do with AFL in 2018, the rest is now history

He is now, similar to Ben Cousins and Jake King an alleged criminal or idiot whichever comes first

Correction : you use the word “or” which suggests the two are mutually exclusive traits ?

I guess you had to be there rjay.  I clearly remember turning to bro at the game (rnd 3 2007 MCG) when both teams ran out before the bounce and making a major point about how much beef/muscle they had added as a team compared to 2006.  He was in full agreement.

Obviously this was way before the Essendrug scandal or any notion of 'the weapon' connection.

I find it hilarious, especially after seeing the Essendon banner last weekend (snow joke). After watching the B-grade news tonight I threw a few quiet fist pumps in the air. That smart-ass infested club really is cementing their drug-related reputation.

I agree, but for the avoidance of any doubt let's also make clear that the runner up doesn't get the premiership by default. I couldn't bear the thought of Collingwood being rewarded for giving me so much enjoyment every time they came second.

The items in the locked room are reported to have Bomber's DNA on them.

The largest item seized during the raid was 839.7 grams of MDMA which reportedly was not in the locked room.  Re this item:

"Senior Constable Bourke said the 839.7 grams of MDMA was contaminated by the clandestine drug unit so DNA could not be found but police were still investigating a connection between these drugs and the 54-year-old".

It beggars belief that a specialised group of cops could contaminate evidence but somehow they did...

So much more to play out on this. We will be hearing about for some time.

I don't understand this dna contamination of the 839gm of mdma

i always understood they could detect (differentiate) multiple dna profiles in a sample and could therefore at least determine if there was any dna from thompson even where there was police dna on it due to mishandling

unless.... it was suspected that the handling of another item by the police could have transferred thompson's dna from that item to the mdma

whatever, i think this 'contamination' needs to be further explained publicly to eliminate any accusations of 'tampering' with evidence especially as the mdma would appear to be the largest example of 'commercial'  level trafficking

i'm just suspicious in cases like this of "contamination" and asking for clarification

police are highly trained in forensic sampling procedures, especially in pre-organised raids

nothing personal re thompson re the mdma. just a desire for proper procedure. after that "let the chips fall where they may"

Im rather amused how even now the spin doctors are painting Bomber as almost a victim.

The man had choices. All those involved in either drugs or 'supplements' had choices.

The 'coming back to bite you on the bvm' was only a matter of time.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
