Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I wasn't asking about Boyd. One hit wonder thus far, although in a game that cements his "legend" for all time.

You said some unkind things about Hogan, and I was wondering what your thoughts were on him re-signing, given that you sold all of his stocks at a bargain price.

I thought I cashed in on selling Hogan at a high price to many of you.  When all of you salivated squared.  Done the same with Jordan Lewis.  You guys are Alan Bond with rose coloured glasses.  Kerry Packer said there was only one Alan Bond transaction in a lifetime; not here.

Lynch and Daniher have flown past him...I think that is well accepted.  Hogan will have his days, but only when the moons align.  Can't build a flag tilt around that.

Your reference to Daniher speaks volumes. Daniher's emergence in his fourth season, should provide a lesson regarding writing off young key position forwards. If his stocks are low this week, I'm happy to load up.

Daniher has his one good game of the year and he has gone past Hogan? Hogan is still a year behind Daniher in development and his stats are every bit the equal of Daniher. Jesse needs to get his head on straight, but I'll still back him over Daniher.

Hogan has one dart, gets rubbed out and has a slowish start and all of a sudden Danniher has flown past him?

This is BS of the highest order. Danniher has played some good footy, but even die hard Essendon fans are still trying to figure out his ceiling.

Way too early to be writing off Hogan. The kid is the goods.

Daniher was selected by a club where his family were royalty, Hogan was drafted as an underage player by a club on the other side of the country at a time where is father was extremely ill. Hogan is a year younger has played 31 less games than Daniher and is still ahead of him on all statistics.

Daniher is kicking 2.4 goals a game this year, hardly a star, Jeffy is kicking that many. I'll buy as many Hogan shares you want to sell.

These are the career averages.

Hogan is developing into an awesome talent. He's going through a lot personally at the moment and thats got to be making an impact. If his body holds up his time will come.

But Joe Daniher  is a bit of a freak...huge kick, fast and massive mark. Seems almost unstoppable on his day. Being unbiased I think JD is going to be a superstar, I hope Jesse is in the same bracket.

Gee he looked good yesterday didn't he. That kick he drilled after running down the wing and taking a few bounced was class.

My aunty is related to him. His head looks like road kill though.

I fear that Jesse is leading us a merry dance right now. He knows he's got the skills, the potential, the backing of his teammates and the club in general but seriously, who the [censored] in their right mind would travel home to the other side of the country, whilst suspended, to supposedly visit their sick Dad for a few days and then somehow manage to find themselves at a dance party in the Swan Valley smoking darts and looking 3 sheets to the wind or otherwise.?

That is taking the pizz something fierce.

Club is scared of coming down on him too hard for fear of him walking out.

This isn't gonna end well.

I think Lethal summarised Watts perfectly after his first game...  Having said that, nobody deserves success like JW.

I think Lethal summed up Hogan perfectly too a year or two ago.

I can't see 'Sooks per game'

Daniher is more a multidimensional mobile tall for me.  Yes he will have the yips at the set shot, but I like his leap, pace, versitility.

That win against us a year ago, he tore us to shreds, unlike Riewoldt who got out on his own for a few cheapies that have been over-glorified IMO.

Maybe it was when he said that Hogan had no skill when the ball hit the ground, that he was a lead up and mark player only, or words to that effect.

Stupid comment.  So the fact he went home means he can't also socialise with his mates.

He is a 22 year old kid,  who seems to have a lot going on and having a day out and getting on the beers is not the end of the world.

How the f..k do you know what happened within the club.  Should they have publicly ridiculed him???

In April 2016 he doubted his body type for the modern game.

I disagree with Lethal in that he does lead long, but I reckon Lethal doesnt rate his change of direction; and hence his use of angles; nor his capability to produce repeated short burst leading in F50 that opens space behind him.

Components of the Hogan package impress me; but the Hogan package itself doesn't.  Something is missing in my book....and Lethal's.

So you base his excellence on a couple of good games, one against us where he kicked straight for the first and probably only time that year and yesterday.

He will dominate some games when he has it all his way and the opposition is weak, like us last year and the pies yesterday.

You"ve always liked your multi dimensional mobile talls but can't see the one directly in front of you, Hogan can play as a mid, back, forward, what does that say about his multi dimentionality.

Lethals view was that Hogan is a stay at home full forward and cant play up the ground.

Which is total nonsense as Hogan is fantastic up the ground and very mobile.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
