Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Verrrrrrrry Interesting:  A number of posters with an excellent track record of info have quite diverse insights from respective sources:

  • Generation Dee - trade in pipeline, working out the finer details.
  • gwsampso - wouldn't be surprised if we get him
  • dr dee - who registered today to tell us we haven't spoken to him...in a way that is kinda persuasive.
  • Chook in Perth -  he ain't coming
  • Abe - said he was aware of a trade not unlike that Gen Dee outlined but different picks involved.

Where is @Harbinger43 he usually has good intel!  Apologies if I missed any others.

Well, I'm confused:unsure:

Some of you will need to give your sources a jolly good talking to!

But seriously, thanks for continuing to post what you hear- if nothing else makes for great entertainment~

For what it's worth, I've been told by someone who has been told someone that Rockliff will be a Melbourne player tomorrow.

The original source (not my contact) is parent of a current Melbourne player. Not sure how they would necessarily know but better than Judd's grandma.

Jordan Lewis' parents already getting involved.... I like it!

I'd assume Dees will wrap up Lewis and Hibberd by tomorrow or at latest Tuesday. If Rockliff stays as is, and remains as just speculation, i wouldn't think the Dees would have much more business to attend to.. hopefully i'm proven wrong!!!

Given we don't have a lot of picks and will probably have a few list spots I'd think we might make a late move on a very bottom of the list type trade instead of waiting for delistings.

Whilst we've heard rumours of bringing in a Barlow/Scott Thompson/Dal Santo to fill an experience spot that Lewis probably fills now I wonder if bringing him in will make any of our younger players - mainly like an ANB - decide to try and move.

I will to this, i am aware of interest, and that it'd be put to the Lions in conversations regarding Lynden Dunn, i am not sure how far that's gone but the trade offer is pick 29 and Dunn.

i am also aware that the Lions are willing to accept an early second round selection if a club is willing to take Rocky which is concerning in itself.

So i am putting 2 and 2 together here and haven't been told at any stage that Rockliff is definitely coming, but if we've put an offer on the table and they're that keen to make a move i see little reason that it shouldn't happen, i also feel this would explain the hold up in the Hibberd deal which all indications were would be done very early on in trade week.

My source who has always been very close to the pin reckons that Melbourne (and other clubs) won't touch him. Considering he is a ball magnet and fantasy pig that speaks volumes.

I also don't think we could get Hibberd and Rockliff and Lewis done without dipping into next years funds and we might not want to do that considering the pool next year.

I will say that Rockliff goes against everything Roos has instilled re: culture, even if he's a gun midfielder.

He's renowned in the industry for being a [censored]. As much as Brisbane has tried to hide it, occasionally you'll see his real persona shine through (the Twitter incident, his comment post-game a year ago that Scott pulled him up on).

This is CLEARLY the biggest thing the MFC have to weigh up, the trade/contract expectations and quality of player point to him being a great get, but the real nature of the attitude stuff is the real unknown here.

Ok, I had to look up the Twitter 'incident' as Id never heard anything about it.

Talk about a total non issue.     Get him to Melbourne, pronto.

It's no coincidence Brisbane would probably take what they can get for him; people speak in the industry and it's no coincidence most clubs aren't interested in taking him.

It would take a seriously experienced, respected coach to back themselves to turn him around. Ultimately though you can only do so much, and Rockliff is a long way off the beaten track...

I didn't say that.

I said Brisbane knew nothing about the complex trade posted.

"Are you working on a complex deal  involving Dunn and future picks with Melbourne for Rocky?"

"No."

People  I trust are now talking about this. I'm approaching cautious excitement. Will be working the phones tomorrow.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
