Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Jack Fitzpatrick played his first game for Hawthorn today after being delisted by the demons at the end of 2015.  He kicked the matchwinning last goal of the game that secured Hawthorn a top 4 spot.  A fantastic roving off his own ruck work to run forward and let fly from 65 metres.  In the post match interview he said it was only his 3rd win of his career since his debut in 2011.  Now is well placed to feature in September.

Good luck to Jack.

Well done Fitzy. Howe, Chip and Fitzy having a chin wag post match. Good triumphs over evil as Max would say.

Was great to see Fitzy slot that goal from long distance.  He's had a long, hard road, and I'm thrilled for him that he's been given another chance.  Just hope he gets to now play in September!  Would be great reward for perseverance.

Good on him. Big agile guy who can make correct decisions in traffic. Reminiscent of Big Bob Johnson in many ways.Quickly given the shove by Melbourne.

I bear all players who leave our club no ill will but I think you may be rewriting history first to suggest correct decisions in traffic ( does that include that glorious attempt at tunnel ball from the goal square last year ??? ) and quickly given the shove ???? How many years was he on the list ??

Good on you for getting getting a gig fitzy...

He has illness issues and players shouldnt be discounted for injuries.could be the biggest bolter since Piping Lane and Michael Byrne.

Delighted for Fitzy - that goal was about the only kick all day that wasn't a shank of some sort.  The tragedy for Fitzy is he probably won't play the next game when McEvoy returns.

But I'm dirty on him!  If Hawks had lost they would be playing WCE in Perth and not Cats at MCG.  Win or lose their next game is at the MCG.  Get my drift.  At worst they play the Prelim interstate.

Can't bear for Hawks to be in the GF again and it seems they now have a dream run to it with their games predominately at the G. I will be really filthy if they fluke another flag after 5 wins within a goal!

Lol, he didn't kick too many like that in our jumper, but good on him.

He actually did kick a few rippers for us in his rare game-time.  The problem was (and still is) that he isn't great at reading the flight, doesn't have great hands and his passing game sucks.  Where he looked good today was when he was able to get a little space to lead into and use his straight-line pace.  He took a great mark on the lead to start the game (missed the shot), then in more or less the same place got a free and nailed the shot.  For the rest of his time forward he was early to the ball and getting crunched by the players who timed their runs better.  He took a few good marks while rucking, but let himself down with some diabolical short kicks.  That goal put his ahead of Pittonet as the forward-ruck option, but they were both pantsed by Grundy.

Good on him, it was better for him and us that he moved on.  He had a couple of good games with us followed by some really ordinary games, so we did the right thing in delisting him.

Really? Why?

Whats he done wrong to us? We delisted him after a long struggle with a variety of illnesses. He tried hard and gave his all. I'm so happy to see him get a second chance, and as much as I hate Hawthorn I'm thrilled to see him getting a go.

Deserves success!

Wouldn't go as far as "deserves success".  Nathan Jones deserves success.   I agree that it's pretty hard to hold anything against Fitzy though.  He's no better a player now than he was with us, but he's found himself in the right place at the right time, as can happen sometimes.  Good luck to him.

I knew the minute he was drafted by the Hawks that he'd be their next Spangher and he'd be playing in September. It's an awful kind of vindication when Clarkson selects one of your discards. Oh what? Clarko wants him? Can we take him back? Donkeyness aside, he had a bit of 'cult figure' to him. He could clunk some good pack marks. Was actually one of my favourite players when he played, purely for his uniqueness. But such is the price you pay when you play Tunnel Ball with Paul Roosy's heart

He deserves success because he has battled so many illnesses and injuries and is still on an AFL list battling away. Plenty far less deserving than him going around... Think Frawley.

Felt uncomfortable, but was sort of barracking for the pies in this one. Failing winning and booting the Hawks out of the 4, the least Collingwood could have done was to inflict season ending injuries on a few of their match winners...

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
