Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

We have been a poor tackling side for as long as I can remember.. Today was just a 'bruise free day' for the young Dees.. Hope they drop the habit.

Still lack a fair bit of genuine class and leadership but some of the talent is there to work with..

A poignant indication for mine, and it goes to the idea of litmus raised elsewhere; we still finished withsub 100℅

That's a fail

Disappointing to say the least

Squandered , more the case

What have we really learnt ?

Trade yourself out to anyone. How about we keep Hogan and you get lost. I'm sick of people like you going off half cocked with negative drivel. You would have next to no idea what you're talking about.

Top response. If you can't see Hogan's ability beyond a few average performances then I don't think you've been watching the last two seasons.

A 21 year old centre half forward with 41 games and 85 goals under his belt is something special. If you can't understand that then go to bed.

Hogan just looks like he's been playing self-preservation football the 2nd half of the year. Won't be surprised to see the headline on Tuesday or Wednesday next week "Hogan requests trade"

I'm frustrated like all & prob posted a negative .. But after listening to Roos presser ., he's on the money & said pure & simple young kids ran out of legs after Port game... Big month won 3 in a row.. Wins against Hawks, port & almost WC, 2 road trips. Another preason for our 1st & 2nd year players will help. We should feel confident going fwd as Roos said that young team has plenty of growth together for improvement... Throw in melcshem & few more trades should see further improvements!

As much as watching the game today sucked, perhaps it was for the better.  There has been enough good performances this year for the team to build a bit of confidence that we can match it with some of the good teams on our day.

If there was any sence of overconfidence and complacency from our small run of form, today's loss should leave a bad taste in the mouths of the players to motivate them to work their butts off over preseason as there is obviously still a lot of work to go.

Someone on this page might be a little bit tipsy...

FWIW Hogan is young, inexperienced, and struggles to cope with being out of form as it's happened to him so few times in his life. He's passionate; and in its youth, it comes across as cantankerous. The determined, stoic type will come with age and experience.

I'd also wager that he's playing injured which is adding to his lack of mobility and frustration. He could barely walk when off the ground during the stkilda match and hasn't looked dangerous since.

let freo have him just useless

I'm not sure that Freo would be looking so attractive to Hogan after the realitive seasons us and them have had.

Freo's annus horribilis couldn't have come at a better time for us in many ways.  The main concern would be if the exit of key players like Pav and deflation in value of a few others will leave them with a huge war chest to throw at Jessie.

Hogan's first season was certainly ahead of where Johnathan Browns was and Tom Hawkins took about as long as Jack Watts to come good I recon.  Both of the aforementioned played in kinda handy sides too.

Our delivery into the forward line was deplorable at times this year, but should only get better as the team improves.  I'm sure Jessie would have been much happier with the kind of supply that Tomahawk was getting today.

Bruise free? We were [censored], or skills shucked and we let a free tackles slip but ask Dangerfield if we were bruise free. We went hard and scragged when we didn't have the ball, they just out played us.

The most horrifying thing about yesterday was it was pretty much our best 22.

i could sort of accept yesterday if we had 8-10 of our best 22 out, but we had our likely 2017 Rd 1 side ( minus M Jones and possibly Bugg and Harmes).

Next year it's unlikely we won't have the dream injury run that we did this year.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
