Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

GAMEDAY - Round 16

The most damning statistic underlining Melbourne's recent history in games against Fremantle is the last six scores against them ~

40, 40, 38, 34, 50, 54.

We bolstered the average considerably in our two encounters last year but it still sits at a shade under 43 points a game or a goal less than the Demons' total in the second quarter against Adelaide last week.

It goes without saying that we'll have to be well above average if we're going to win tonight.

I don't think I could handle a loss tonight. I will be at work tonight...in Fremantle...working with Fremantle supporters.

Don't worry Ethan it's in the bag!! I'm confident on this one and I'm sure you will relish the opportunity of being boorish, uncouth, unsporting and foul mouthed toward your fellow employees.

I feel a bit more comfortable this time around. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's in the bag but I feel OK.
Jack Watts' (of all people) comments last week made me feel  that finally the days of 'losses don't matter' are finally behind us and we actually come out to play every week.

We shouldn't lose this. Freo still has some solid ball winners but they're incredibly unbalanced atm and we should beat them in key areas (middle, attack, stoppages).

Win and losses for us seem to be predictable by formula these days. Playing an underdog in Darwin and in the second half of the season has all the ingredients for a loss. Will Jack Watts's comments that we won't give up again in the second half of the season ring true or hollow?

If we turn it on, we win.

If we go in with the whole Essendon/Saints mindset... oh god.

Simply have to win this.

Hogan is due & if he doesn't kick a bag on Zac Dudson he can join him at Freo next year for a 5th round pick

This is Melbourne we are talking about. I havent seen anything this season that makes me confident of a win on the road, especially against Freo. Even with half their list out. We are kids playing against men.

Them by 4 or 5 goals.

Still, i would like to be wrong.

Go Dees.

Hmmm, perhaps wait until 11:30

Terry Wallet doing his best David King impersonation yesterday gave the stat. that whilst the Dees had the second best score conversion once the ball was in their forward fifty, the Dockers had the the lowest, or second lowest opposition forward entries at something like 46 per game.

We need Gawn and the midfield to dominate. The goalkickers will come to the fore, whoever they may be.

Start with a few beers Jaded and build toward the red. If ( unlike myself on far too many occasions)  you are still conscious for the second half you can begin frenzied red drinking - either in celebration or abject sadness.

Unlike you to take a comment completely out of context.

Couldn't fit a Neeld association somewhere in there?

Could you please produce a video like this one in the future so you can get all your butt hurt about Mark Neeld out in the open?

We can end this little [censored] for tat trolling and it will be cathartic for you as well as highly amusing for me.

Dees by 17, could go either way as the Freo forward line looks capable of kicking a big score.

As is always the case, the game will be won in the middle.

Three fingers of Cognac would be far more appropriate at this time of day.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P
