Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

As grey as it gets. Community needs to focus on helping victims of domestic violence and not journo comments to each other.

What was said I do not condone however publicly bullying Eddie about it I also don't condone. Mens health is as important as domestic violence.

No one has said it isn't just as important, but seriously you're trying to turn Eddie into the victim in this?

Again, listen to the full segments, you can't possibly understand the different tones without doing so.

That is completely untrue.

The difference is the left are seeking to separate true Muslims, who are peaceful, and those who twist the Koran to suit their own socio-political agendas, whereas the right are painting all of them with the same brush and just want to bomb them or ban them.

Subtlety and understanding has never been your strong point though, or that of the right with which you identify.

Are you saying Muslims in general are ok with homosexuality, and it's only the bad ones who condemn it? Or have I missed your point here?

No, I'm saying a true Muslim who isn't stuck in the dark ages doesn't believe homosexuals should be killed.

A bit like how Christians are against homosexuality but don't want to kill them.

Yeah and they're clearly all the same and should be beaten if they get out of line hey?

We've all had bad experiences mate, but some of us are man enough to recognize they're not all the same and that there is a violent culture in our country towards them.

Are you against the Mosque in Bendigo?

The only way anyone would support a Mosque is if they were utterly clueless about Islam and the Quran.  Many of the highest ranking Imam's preach hatred of the West to our young easily influenced minds.

I fully understand that my answer is wonderful fodder for those that want to start throwing labels around ... so be it.  I'm well versed in Islam and the dangers it presents to the West.  It is completely incompatible with freedom, democracy and our way of life.  Islam is only interested in God's law, not our "man-made laws".  They tolerate their host countries culture and laws, but it is in spite of Islamic teachings.  Sweden is now the rape capital of the world due to their left-leaning policies and wonderfully welcoming open arms.  They've lost their country.  It will be Islamic within 30-50 years.  Do some research.

I appreciate that you won't understand much of what I'm saying and that the general populace is ignorant of Islam, so before going of with your rant do a bit of research ... and then rant.  And then research again.  And then rant.  Islam is as much a political ideology with its own set of rules and politics than it is a religion.

Anyway Old Man, I've given you what you want so you can yell racist and bigot from the top of your lungs.  But it's misguided anger.  You're simply oblivious to Islam.  Islam is smart though.  Much smarter than you.  They thrive on the support from the Left while hating you at the same time.  It's kind of admirable.

Islam hates Israel and the Left hates Israel.  One happy family.  And in the meantime the Left won't dare say a word against Islam.

Btw, before anyone asks, yes, there are westernised moderate Muslims.  And there are plenty of them.  But there's nothing moderate about Islam and those who are do so in spite of teachings or are simply ignorant of the Quran.  And plenty of Muslims are ignorant of the Quran (thankfully).

There endeth the lesson, Old man.   Rant and spit away...

a point being missed here is eddie's lack of a clear apology when this blew up. he attempted to justify his behaviour and further obfuscated, turning the charade into more of a filibuster in his usual fashion than a simple clear apology

here is frawley's immediate unequivocal apology by comparison

Quote

Former St Kilda captain Danny Frawley also went on the Hot Breakfast program on Monday morning with a clear intention to apologise. He said he had also tried to ring Wilson to apologise.

"I want to sincerely apologise for my comments that happened last Monday.

"They were inappropriate, they were unacceptable, and any comments that translate into or are seen as being violence against women are totally inappropriate."

He said he spoke to his three daughters and mother about the remarks on Sunday and that "a lot of people had been affected, no more than Caroline Wilson".

He admitted that when he listened in isolation to the conversation: "It's not great".

"It's not good enough, I take full responsibility," Frawley said.

Look, I don't crave yours or any other admiration.  I post and people can choose what they like or otherwise, it matters not to me.  If I was concerned I wouldn't write what I know will have the hand-wringers seething.

The Left love to be our moral guidance on most social aspects, but when it comes to Islam they are completely silent. Utterly silent.  And it's deafening, because they screech from the rooftops on everything else.  Where are the feminists when it comes to Islam and its gay/women's rights ?  Why you can't see this fascinates me.  I'll put it down to left-wing sentiments.

Rest assured though, I have little time for the present right in politics.  They're a do nothing gutless mob only interested in their own interests.

Isn't that all pollies? Social media and the immediate feedback loop really have killed off the politician who did things because they were right, not because they got the most likes (or you have Dan the man who does them because his puppet masters tell him to).

I have also been very aware of the lack of articles in columns such as daily life in the age about the horrors women face in extreme Islam.

This is surprisingly misguided, and yes bigoted, even for someone like you.

Many of the highest ranking Catholic's have hidden systematic child abuse. Nothing to say about Catholicism though? Of course not, that's a good "white" religion.

I've studied both the Quran and the bible, grew up in the church with parents who were ministers, and also spent a few years learning and observing some Muslim traditions. I would suggest you placing yourself as the preeminent expert in Islam here is as ridiculous as your view that those who would support a mosque are "utterly clueless about Islam and the Quran". I would wager the Muslims who support them would know a bit more about Islam than you.

This above is one of the more ridiculous rants I've read (outside of an Andrew Bolt column) but it sure completes the picture of "ProDee" the person.

For once I agree with Stuie.  Mods, time to lock this as it is getting on very dangerous ground.  My granddaughter is made keen on Frozen and overtime I see her she sings 'Let it go' to me.  Fairly apt song in this case.

Go away for a day and WW3 breaks out!

I agree with stuie on this. There I said it, never thought I would. As for Prodee and SWYL you seem to fail to appreciate that we live in changing times and standards of acceptability are shifting, not long ago aboriginals could not vote and slavery was commonplace (in the world). Societal values change, time to move with the times.

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
