Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The footy classified show on ch 9, 9th of July 2018 said they won't talk about MFC till we beat a club above position 10 on the ladder. We suffered for years as the easy beats now we can play, they suggest this. Has it happened to any other club? What is wrong with talking about us? Us fans need to hear what the commentators views are and get some news about MFC. Are we not part of the AFL family? Why ostracize us? I hope it is tongue in cheek, though they didn't mention anything about the Darwin game and they intend not to talk about the dogs game. WOW! If we don't beat Geelong then nothing for us, peculiar.

I find their statement offensive. Wouldn't happen to the bigger clubs.

Saw that as well.

if applied to all clubs will limit the show which could be a good thing.

AFL would love the show as it allows enough breaks for adverts and loves talking about Collingwood. They may not play a team above ten in the run home with their soft draw, so will be interesting

But I bet they raved on about Collingwood who have only beaten us out of all the teams in the 8

Wrong.  If you are starting a line of comment at least get the facts and quotes  correct to avoid misinterpretation.

It was part of " good call bad call" .. The quote was " should the MFC be starved of serious oxygen ?" as posed I think by LLoyd.  Hutchy replied it was unfair but understood the issue behind it, and hence no serious coverage on finals was his meaning, unless serious scalps claimed.

Lloyd BTW believes MFC will come good, as said on a recent prior show as does David king.

Talking Footy is for children. If only i was prepared to give News Corp. money I would have Foxtel but alas.

Oh, sorry didn't quite understand the commentary. Not too focused on the show. Easy to misinterpret if not too knowing of their program. How come that was all they mentioned of the Dees? You can see that others heard the same thing as me. Poor media communication, though I apologise for the misleading post. Thanks for the reply and correction 17.

I just watched the first segment of On The Couch with Jonesy replacing Lyon. It was interesting to hear what he said about us and how we were playing, particularly when he mentioned Port. I agreed with everything that he said up until he said at the end of the day Port were the better team on the night. I hope that's not what they really believe. Port were not the better team on the night, we were the better team and we stuff it up. I would've liked to have seen him say more than "we were disappointed with the result", I want them to be &*$# off that they let a game that was in our grasps in every way slip through our fingers.

The numbers all look good and we can say all the KPI's look good on paper but until they get translated into wins they mean nothing.

Your idealogical resistance is preventing you from accessing a smorgasbord of sport. Cycling, golf, MLB, NBA. Not to mention National Geo etc. Of course, there are devices that let you get it for free...

Can you explain this statement for me please? Who is this Caro bloke?

If she was a 'bloke' she might be taken more seriously. She gets under the skin of many but still one of the best writers in the game.

I hate nitpicking what players say publicly but that stood out to me as well. The tone of his answer was sometimes you have to accept that you got beaten on the day. It was a shrug of the shoulders type of response. I wasn’t a fan and I’d hope if Jonesy watched it back he would word it differently. I don’t want acceptance of any loss by the players, least of all a loss where we were the dominant side from a statistical point of view.

Jesse currently on Fox’s The Weekend Lowdown. Refreshing to see him smile and have some fun. Scrubs up well too does Jesse. Never seen this show before, looked like some lighthearted fun.

When the question was put to him, he would have Nathan Jones as the player to kick for goal to win after the siren from the 30-40m range.

Touched on his midfield minutes, more stay at home forward now since the return of Gus and Viney into the team.

Yep, willmoy. I'd prefer the Dees' players to stay out of the media - organisations that know how to exploit 'for the glory of it'. The media and the AFL world remind me of an old joke: Q: What do sharks and lawyers have in common? A: Professional courtesy. Media personalities are leeches. It's 'mate this...' and 'mate that...' , '...now show us your dirty laundry in the spirit of good humour...or better still, let us show the viewers/listeners/readers your dirty laundry that we found!'

Yes, can't remember exactly, but Lewis got left holding the bag, when something was said about the Media itself, with that Tiger boofhead

When no one agreed with him.

I thought the footy show having embarrassed Petracca with his basketball skills may have contributed to his poor performances.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
