Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The AFL's three most boring teams

Hawthorn, Fremantle and Norf.

I just find these teams so boring to watch. To be fair, I haven't minded Fremantle lately as it's pretty fun watching them get thumped.

The most interesting thing about North and Freo is their coach. Clear one and two.

Hawthorn games are fun to watch when they are in a dogfight ala the Adelaide match earlier this year. When they are skiing all over sides they are a sleeping pill. Unlike Geelong in their heyday who were a joy to watch.

In all fairness though I'd have to nominate Brisbane as the third most boring side due to pure awfulness.

Hawthorn. ( dull as dog droppings) like their supporters.

Brisbane.  ............. Ordinary

Geelong................ The hype far outweighs the actual quality of the team

Special mention to Freo ( their hearts no in it )

It's almost irrelevant posting three because North Melbourne are easily the most bafflingly dull, uninteresting, vanilla... no, wait, that's insulting to vanilla... team in the competition. There is literally not one thing about that team that grabs or excites you, and (like Fremantle last year) you know they're about a season or two away from oblivion. That smarmy, smug smile on Brayshaw and Scott's face will disappear pretty quickly.

2nd and 3rd is an interchangeable contest between non-entities like Fremantle and Brisbane, and teams like Geelong and Essendon. Both tedious to the point I'll actively avoid the game even if it's the only one on. Can't stand Worsfold, either.

At least basket cases like Gold Coast and Richmond are watchable when they lose, purely for the LOL factor.

Depends on your definition of boring.

I find watching Richmond, Geelong, Hawthorn and Sydney on TV every week to be more boring than anything else.

It's certainly tedious having a combination of the same [censored] 6 teams every single week on free to air. Always some combination of Hawthorn, Collingwood, Richmond, Geelong, Carlton and Sydney (the Franklin factor).

Freo, in fact any team coached by Ross Lyon, by a country mile

Norf

Brisbane = Gold Coast*

*GC are so boring that they have to contrive "music" whenever they score a goal, which is, thankfully uncommon.  Talk about an artificial club, an artificial team in an artificial location.

Friday nights featuring bloody Richmond!! I'm all tigered out with the saturation they've had this year in the media also.

The other 2 spots go to the non entities in gws & gc..... their own fans get bored, I was at the gc game this year & there's no way there was more than a few thousand there (despite official attendance records) with hardly any of them observing the actual game. Pathetic. The couple of sections of mfc supporters there easily made more noise than the home crowd. Same with gws when I've been there in years gone by (albeit they weren't mfc games, so I was a little bored regardless). Just nothing clubs. I much rather beat teams I've hated for years ?

I hate hawks with a passion, but surprised they are getting called boring here. They win tight games & I like watching unsociable footy when its not against us.... but hate/envy them nonetheless.

1. Brisbane

2. Freo

3. Melbourne

Last few years I'd have Melbourne as a clear top choice.  Our skills and (lack of ability to implement any sort of) game plan have been quite painful to watch, and if I didn't bleed red & blue, I'd never watch one of their games.

Lol North are a top club with no money that go out every week and play for there supporters , the players bleed for the jumper and club I have nothing but the highest respect for North there everything I one day hope we can be and Roos would think the same .

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
