Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

  1. Surprised that Viv is in. Good luck to you sunshine
  2. My pick was Dunn stays in and maybe Garland and Grimes to come back. I was wrong! ( Not uncommon)
  3. Welcome back Oliver
  4. Saw training yesterday, they haven't dropped. Just need to get it back, Captain Jones was vocal, Even PJ was there.

This group is fantastic, best i seen in a long long time. I'm NOT old, like Knights of the Templar old, but old enough to know these guys can bring it back.

Win it in the middle and the back becomes a lot easier

Crucial for Tommy Mcd to stop Lynch. I had Frost in as a backup.

Suns win if we cannot stop Lynch (as Daniher showed for Bombers). Tommy Mcd can be vulnerable.

Gawn should destroy Currie.

Dees need to win this !!

I'm concerned about the lack of height in our backline. Tom McDonald hasn't been in excellent form so we don't have a back up if one of the talls gets off the hook. Colin Garland had a very poor start to the season, so it's putting a lot of pressure on two out of form players to try and stop arguably one of the top two in form tall forwards in the competition. I at least thought this was a sign to move Frost to the backline.

Yeah, the Templars haven't won any silverware since 1307, despite their great record when it comes to melees. Perhaps we should start a sympathy campaign for them, a la Richmond?

I doubt they would survive a 21st century drug code R and B.

We will smash them in the center if Gawn has his way. If not it'll even up. This will be a battle of the forwards, mark my words. Expecting a high scoring contest.

Interesting listening to Drew Petrie saying he thinks we have the best clearance midfield in the AFL at the moment and that's where we're going to have a huge advantage this week.

hard to believe coming up against a midfield with Gary Ablett and Dion prestia in it

I like it, pull T Mac aside and say "your the man, there is no back up plan, you win your one on one contest, we win the game"

Jack Viney on Gaz will be a cracker, show us what you can do Jack

As I said before the Bombers game the team is much too short.  Suns FB, CHB, CHF & FF all 197+ cm.

So we drop two of the bigger players and bring in mids and smalls.  Looks like Lynch is up for a Daniher.

When the turf hits the fan, we can minimise damage with Pederson to CHF, Garland to FF and Hogan to CHF.  Means Garland has to relieve in the ruck.

Dear Selectors, you are very foolish men.

Hopefully we'll have one of those guys in our midfield next year to strengthen it even further, mate. ;)

You think we lost the Essendon game due to height ?

It was lost in the midfield.  They had 128 more possessions and 70 marks, i.e. run and spread.

In roos views he intimated the concussion occured the week before the saints game so you're  probably right

Apparently that's what happened before the Saints game, and look where that got us. Over to you Tommy.

He may be saying this because the stat says so -we are number one for center clearances in the league.

I am torn on Lumumba.

I don't think his defending is bad.

The problem for me is on his good days - he gets the ball and takes off at a million miles an hour, breaks lines and (most of the time) can put it to advantage short of long. On his bad day   - he gets the ball ad takes off at million miles an hour, runs around in circles confusing everyone including himself and either gets caught, turns it over or bombs to no one in particular.

He was poor against Essendon and Saints and good against North, Collingwood and Richmond. You can't have too many Lumumba's in the team ( in fact we cant afford another one !) but on his good days he is value.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
