Posting Unsubstantiated Rumours on this Website is Strictly Forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I honestly struggle with the loyalty thing. If my employer did to me what was done to these guys, it would inspire very little loyalty in me.

That is why 'loyal' was in quotation marks, guys.

I'm sure training as a group would be beneficial for him. I'm sure his angst wouldn't have been with the players.

Until he signs something IMO there is no significant development.

Hate to be bearer of disappointing news.  Channel 7 is reporting that Hurley has started training with the core banned players, (which he has refrained from up til now).

A significant development suggesting he will re-sign with EFC.

If he and Hibberd are a 'package' and will stay together or go together then we could almost cross him off the list as well.

If true good on them for being 'loyal'.

We all move on. I am sure mfc will strengthen our defence with an experienced player.  Full confidence!

Proves there was something going down which took till 15th June to sort out (cure) and someone had to do something about it quick. So C7 sniffer(sleeping) dogs pulled their collective fingers out  and were informed about  no smoke here anymore. Big powers at play in Bomberland  Some hell of reports to be read one day.

Pretty sure that same vision included Melksham returning to train with that same banned group? Unless they merged the two stories to make it seem that way.

Butttt if it's the first then not entirely sure that hurley training is enough to say he is a bomber next year

ESSENDON would receive no free agency compensation pick if Michael Hurley walked out to one of a growing list of AFL suitors.

The All-Australian centre half-back remains unwilling to commit to the Bombers.

Essendon could have cashed in on Cale Hooker’s departure by securing a free agency compensation selection in the top handful of national draft selections.

But is understood if Hurley left as a free agent, it would be as a delisted free agent for which the club receives no compensation.

So no trade required, although it could be a good move to trade for him rather than go through the court process and setting a worrying precedent.

So it would be good to acquiesce to the outrageous demands of dodo, and sell the farm, rather than take a fantastic player for free?

I think if you were to join our recruiting team, That would be the worrying precedent.....

The precedent would only include those who have been banned for PEDs I would presume, hardly a common occurence

Im not sure this is such a good thing. In a way it makes it harder for Hurley to walk . It mean his old club, which he is bound to feel some allegience to, will get nada if he goes. A fcat, that should he go, would be bound to cost him friendships. If he's angry enough and wants to go then great but if he's waivering then this set up would probably lean him into staying.

Why would you feel any allegiance to a club that looked upon you as a guinea pig at best ??

Id burn down their club with glee before re-signing with such !!

This  old club stuff...just bullshlt that EFC want anyone and everyone to buy into

I would like friends who gave me advice that was beneficial to my overall wellbeing, not friends who had other allegiances and vested interests like the ones who have been around in the past.

DEE-RUBBING by George on the Outer

For the second week in a row, the Demons had to endure some particularly oppressive match conditions — this time, playing in 30 degree temperatures at the MCG, following the humid sticky Sydney atmosphere of last week.   The warmer conditions didn’t seem to worry the Dee’s since the ball was so much easier to handle, and handle it with surety they did in handing out a 45 point drubbing to the much fancied Western Bulldogs.   After a slow start that saw the Dogs out to

CROSSING THE PICKETT LINE by The Oracle

Melbourne’s performance in losing its Round Zero contest in Sydney has certainly caused the club, the coach and the players to come firmly under the watchful eye of the football world and exposed all of its aspects to a microscopic lens.   Much of the commentary surrounding them has been less than complimentary and, while some might argue that this is unfair after only one round, leaving aside some of the scuttlebutt that surrounds a lot of the discussion around the game, a fair amoun
