Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I don't know how careless she was ...

On the other hand, at least she put her hand up.

Of sorts. Kind of sounds a bit NQR. She's not putting her hand up for using a PED, more like claiming an "oops" moment.

It's so hard to believe these claims about Sharapova. For a start...

The family doctor went rogue.

She was duped.

It was the good meldrumium.

It's not performance enhancing anyway.

She wouldn't take banned drugs ... she's a good Aussie sheila.

She's been set up by the WTA. They need a scalp and she's it.

She is so brave. #standbymaria

Ted, does it also cure cancer?

Probably grabbed by the only drug test they conducted during the Australian Open.

And how come it took so long to process? Bit fishy!!!

I believe this substance gave Maria an enhanced ability to squeal stronger for longer. Certainly did that much for her.

Really? Given the process wouldn't just involve the physical testing (possibly twice to confirm an initial positive reading) but also a fairness step in notifying the player to give her a chance to comment, I think it's been quite quick.

Having said that, it makes no difference to the key issue - she was caught using a banned substance.

I have read a few things about Ms Sharapova in the last 24 hours.

From all reports she is a fairly tough piece of work.

While admitting she is guilty do not expect her to accept a long ban.

She evidently has a team  of Lawyers to battle it out and they are not the [censored]  that Hird and company use.

This is stage 1 in a long story.

Since the software upgrade? we have had continual software glitches. Am I the only one getting sick of fighting dodgy software?

Laughing at the headline itself. Or the irony that it came from an EFC doping pushing toilet rag.

A week ago the AFL was prepared to allow Port, StK, WB, Melbourne, to get salary cap relief for their suspend ex EFC players.  Some 'power' clubs vehemently objected.

In true AFL style it is ready to do a back flip.  But first it will 'wait and see', 'for a deal to be struck between Essendon and the suspended players over payment of their wages before ruling on whether the four non-Essendon clubs can receive a salary cap windfall for not having paid their former Bombers this year': http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/essendon-34-afl-to-rule-on-salary-cap-help-on-banned-bombers-20160309-gnepms.html#ixzz42OA13uhg

This is despite the fact that:  "The league's investigations officer Ken Wood and head of integrity Andrew Dillon have indicated to clubs a first reading of the rules and how they have been applied in the past would indicate the money should not be in the clubs' salary caps if they have not paid the players...The league has pointed to the fact Collingwood did not pay banned pair Lachlan Keeffe and Josh Thomas a portion of their contracts last year and that amount was also excluded from their salary cap".

It is now perfectly set up for the AFL to say something like: now that we have all the facts and all positions have been considered the 4 clubs will have to include the salaries they do not pay in their salary caps!  Or if it takes a few years for EFC to strike a deal it will all be forgotten.

Oh for the day when the AFL has the b_lls to actually make a decision or stick to its own rules.

The rule now is if you a favoured club and squeal loud enough we will bend our rubbery rules for you!

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
