Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I got there early and had to leave early so I missed the nail biting finish.

In the early game J.Lovett spent as much time sitting on the bench as he did on the ground. I am not sure why, unless they are easing him into it.

I  had my eye on him when on the ground, and he has a bit to do, still hasnt done anything of note for mine. I hope that changes before the season is over. He has time on his side but is going to have to work harder during a game.

Oscar player a good game (in my eyes). So did Dunne, though Dunne I expect more from, and a few times threw a team mate under the bus with a stupid handballs.

Sighted Roos at the ground, along with T Mac and Jetta, to add to names in the previous reports.

*Parking at the ground was a nightmare*  I left before the rush, so that was a bonus.

If people are still spelling Trengove as 'Trengrove' around here, then the chances of his last name being spelled right on a consistent basis are slim to none.

I can't imagine this quote from jay Clark would please dunny too much:

'McDonald, 20, also continued his excellent preseason, taking several strong grabs in defence, and could edge out Lynden Dunn for a Round 1 guernsey'

OMac might play i guess but certainly not at Dunn's expense. Jay Clark is reasonably experienced so it is amazing for him to write something so implausible

My comment was based on that not only will Lynden play (he is the glue to our backline in my opinion) but that Oscar is still a good 12 months away from being AFL standard.

Yep you may well be right about OMac. I agree btw on Dunn being our glue down back. Criminally underrated player

Dunn is a hardened 28 y/o, 160 gamer and one of the first picked when fit. OMac is a skinny kid who did little to impress in the NAB Challenge. With some luck, he'll replace Dunn 2-3 years down the track but there's not a hope in hell he gets picked ahead of Dunn next week.

I'm sure Jay Clark will acecpt your apologies anytime soon......

“Generally in round one, you need a really fit team and sometimes you can fall into the trap of playing guys who are a little bit underdone because of their talent level,” Roos said.

“Dunny’s probably a little bit similar [to Brayshaw and Lumumba] – he hadn’t played a lot over the last couple of weeks as well.

“So they’re three that from a fitness point of view, we were able to leave out, based on the form of some of our current players.”

So you believe playing OM ahead of Dunn based on fitness disproves the quotes you re-posted?

Amazing logic!

All things being equal there is no comparison between the two at this stage of their careers.  As Sylvia Saint said maybe in 2-3 years but not now.  If at mid season both are fit and OM is selected before Dunny then you can gloat on someone else's prediction.

I'm planning to head to Casey on Saturday with my boys, hoping to watch Petracca, Trengove, Weideman and whoever else lines up.  Looking forward to seeing some of the young guns go at it.

Is it free entry to practice matches?

I'll try to provide updates and any interesting highlights.

It cost me $5 when I went to the Casey/Williamstown game. Not sure what it is for kids though.

Might go there myself- it's  2pm start for the seniors isn't it?

I will lose my [censored] if Omac gets a game ahead of Dunn. He is the general of our backline where as Omac is turnover merchant with a skinny frame.

How is the squeaky voice going.....any improvement - and now Omac is out injured- Dunny cannot still get a game..hope you loose nothing else now??!

Dunn wasn't in last week due to being under done and isn't in this week due to Essendon having a small forward line. Articles came out saying as much

If nothing else I 'nailed" the correct weekend to get cruxified for a slip up in DUNN's surname.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
