Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Cross was and probably still is quicker than Trengove.

With Wagner and Smith out I'm actually thinking Trengove will play on a back flank.

I very much doubt Cross was ever faster than anyone at melb..

I'm proud to say I've believed in Trengove getting back into the team for past three years and have never taken a backward step... until last week when I finally accepted that he'd never play for the MFC again.

This game messes with the head/heart/soul!

Welcome back Trenners!

You should have let go earlier TPF, it might have been you holding him back all this time.

Absolutely over the moon that Jack Trengove is back in the side!

Proved a few doubters here wrong!

All the hard work down at Casey has paid off!

I hope he plays an absolute blinder!

I personally wish Jack Trengove all the best!

Hopefully there is a HUGE applause when Jack Trengove gets on to the MCG!

GOOD LUCK JACK!!!

WE BELIEVE IN YOU!!!

Fascinated to find out what his role in the side will be.

I just can't see Trengove playing in the fast Play - On style Goodwin is using.

But he obviously has a role mapped out for Jack, this is an 8 point game in 48 hours. Finals are up for grabs

Good Luck Jack in whatever the job is you have been assigned.

If anything, Trengove's return should provide the haters an opportunity to bag him for a lack of speed - real or not.

You know who you are.

I am really looking forward to seeing Trenners back, he was a genuine talent when recruited, tough, good footy smarts.

I confess that when I saw he miss out on selection after losing Jones and Viney to injury, I didn't think I'd see him playing again for the Red and Blue. So yeah it's a bit surprising seeing him come back in this week. It's a big game for the club, and it's a very strong team we have out there, albeit a little down on form....

So it's not like he is filling in for injured players, Goodwin has put him in based on form and i'll be very interested to see the role he has been selected to play.

If Jack's lack of pace is exploited by Port Adelaide then his return has been a failure, hence why i am fascinated by what his (lock down) job will be...

Even last year when he was dropped still pulled in 19 disposals, 5 tackles and 6 clearances. Not mind blowing stats but not exactly poor either. He unarguably outperformed guys like Oliver, Harmes and Bugg but was still dropped. I think the pace issues or overblown on here.

At worst Jack will give it his all and win a share of contested ball and lay a bunch of hard tackles. Whether he is in the plans or not long term shouldn't effect how he is judged on his match day performance. If he does his part and wins some hard ball and puts in defensively that's all I'd ask.

Best of luck Jack!

Can confess that I also thought he was gone just recently but very glad to be wrong about that. Where they play him may provide an an insight into the things he has needed to work on at VFL level..

I believe he is a replacement for out of form players like Smith and Wagner off half back who have been a little flat on their return. Has been playing off half back in VFL recently.

The other possibility is he replaces Vince in a run with role on one of ports mids. They tend to be strong bodied but can't think of any of them being really quick

So, does he play a "team" role or does he try to win kicks to look good?

If given a "role" on someone or a position, may not showcase his abilities.

If he goes "off plan" he get a black marks from coaching staff.

Bloody difficult for him!

There is no doubt whatsoever Jack will play the "team role".

Thats the kinda guy he is. Just imagine, Trengove lightning it up in September.

Geez... I gotta sit down

I actually thought he was a bit stiff last year. Had a solid 20 touches in his comeback, then was one of the catalysts of our amazing second quarter against Collingwood. Did nothing of note against Sydney, but I'm loathe to even count that as an AFL game.

With Jones and Vince returns imminent, the pressure will be on, but if he gets 20 touches and lays some of his trademark tackles then he'll give Goody something to think about.

Bit stiff, solid 20 touches, lays some, carresses it down his throat

Not sure Bernie will be rushed back - he may have to earn his spot.

A bloke who has one or two seasons left versus a bloke who has at least 5 if he can perform.

Really hoping Jack can seize this opportunity and anchor a spot.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
