mitchell's hands are the best in the game. he can hand it off in any direction and is already positioning himself as he grabs it to put to a team mates advantage.

trengove: get ball. steady body. look for teammate. pass ball.

he rarely gets to the third step before he either gets tackled or is forced to dispose of it blindly.

maybe i didn't mean slow running speed but rather slow thinking...he just runs at a different speed in every sense

Where's this observation coming from?  It's not reflected in the VFL reports and it wasn't apparent in his couple of games last year.

Yeah, it’s a shame – but he’s finished.
 
If he can’t get any more than 15-20 possessions a game at vfl level he’s never going to cut it at afl level. By comparison the likes of Melksham, Bugg, JKH, ANB, Kent and Kennedy are regularly getting 30-40 possessions a game at the lower level.

Based on the small sample I saw in two vfl games He can't hit targets regularly by foot and he doesn't do enough defensively.

all 4 are far better players than Trengove. I have been to 3 of the last 4 VFL games, can't say he has been impressive enough to deserve a recall.

has definitely dropped off a bit the last few games..........so why make him emergency with no intent to play

He's not even playing in the midfield at Casey, so he was never going to get a call up.

His career was over 2-3 years ago at the Top Level, the reason he is still on the clubs list i believe, is for insurance reasons as i have said before. 

The way he was played through injury in 2012-13 was a disgrace, then offered to Richmond with fingers crossed. 

Legally i would guess Jack had a good case against the MFC for negligence. 

By keeping him contracted this is averted. 

I can see no other reason he is still on our senior list

last friday was proof. We were down to bare bones and still JT played for Casey

Look at the pace of the game at Top Level now. It's balistic, there is no way JT would get through a full game and be effective.

I feel very sorry for Trengove but the reality is that we're trying to win games.

I back Goodwin's judgement on this. I'm sure he has all the time in the world for Trengove, but the season's on the line and we simply have to field the best possible team in the circumstances.

He knows the system/game plan and he is best able to determine who is most capable at executing it. Unfortunately it seems Trengove is not the next cab off the rank in this respect.

I'd have Vince and Lewis follow Gawn around the park all day.

Well with 4 outs there isn't much to choose from when you need to bring in 7.. Just like Weidemen been named, ni chance he plays. Trengove would have known all along where he stands and knew he wouldn't be getting a game even though he was named on the bench... You think match committee isn't going to put Jack on the extended bench to save the feelings of a few supporters  ?

Jack Trengove, the injustice of it all. Not Goody's fault.. Like Grimes, a lamb to the slaughter.. Terrible waste. 

I remember the day he and Tapscott were having a kick to kick at Casey during  a Demons training session, the first year of being drafted. My semi-autistic son joined in and it was a three way kick session. There is no justice in this world..He  is an outstanding young man.

He's been getting 25 to 30 possessions most weeks.  Didn't look slow when played last year either

I guess the question now becomes whether he's good enough to be picked up by another club at seasons end. He's an FA so that will help his cause to an extent.
