Plough wallace who i actually enjoy listening to has been very big wraps for our club ever since he made Barratt look silly on the Dom Tyson trade.

Most of his stuff is actually well worth listening too.

He is and he was a very good coach, things didn't work at the Tiges for a lot of reasons and whilst the coach bares the blame it's often more complicated than that.

I think our picks 46 and 50 will come forward quite a few slots by the time the Swans, Giants and Lions burn picks for Academy players - yes 5 new picks get inserted but more picks get consumed - all those picks between 33 and 44 will get swallowed up except the Freo pick - that's 11 picks - we might effectively sneak back into the end of the 2nd round

I honestly can't see the benefit in a bunch of these pick swaps with Sydney, Bulldogs, Fremantle etc. Are they just bored and doing it for kicks?

Something looks horribly wrong for Sydney! The picks they have are: 33, 36, 37, 44, 54, 69, 72, worth 2198 draft points.

Maybe the AFL table is wrong but it does reflect the listed trades made by Sydney.

If Callum Mills is selected at 1, 2, or 3 Sydney do not have enough points.

If you can see an error in the above let me know.

I can't see Callum Mills getting pass pick 3 as we have it.

I have hesitated posting this in case we all get too excited so showing the state of play as it looks atmo.

I will keep an eye on the official draft order and see if there are any changes for Sydney.

I will give you a run through - if we go for Mills at ND3 the Swans have to meet 2234 minus 25%: 1675.5.

That will consume picks 33, 36, 37, and move 44 back to 53. If they need to fill out their list - they will do it at the end of the draft.

We will have ND4 suddenly, as Sydney is installed into ND3 to take Mills.

No brainer from Sydney to take him with those picks. From there they will have around 322 points for any other Academy players and, this is an important point, any club can take a deficit into the next draft.

Highlights - it's over

After several weeks of haggling, Carlton's Chris Yarran was today finally traded from Carlton to Richmond. The Blues had their hearts set on a better pick, but eventually relented, accepting pick 19 from the Tigers.

James Aish got his wish to move to Collingwood, with the deal eventually being a complicated three way trade involving North Melbourne and Brisbane, as well as an exchange of several draft picks.

As part of the Aish trade, North Melbourne's Ryan Bastinac got the fresh start he was after, moving to the Brisbane Lions.

After several weeks of controversy, Western Bulldogs defender Michael Talia moved to Sydney in a trade lodged with just minutes to spare.

Carlton made a last-minute pitch to land GWS key position player Adam Tomlinson, however, they were unsuccessful, with the Giants unwilling to let another one of their stars leave.

Cam McCarthy will be playing at the Giants next season, despite his wishes to be traded to the Dockers. His manager saying that he will definitely be back again in 12 months time looking to get the trade done.

To be fair, Wallace probably spends more time watching kids come through now than he did when he was coaching. He did have recruiters to do that when he was at Richmond.
