Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Shocking effort by the club.

While the club will say it has improved off field this is by far the biggest downfall in the way it interacts with its supporter base.

First the intra club and now this. Not good enough from a professional organization.

Yeah, you're right, Cam Schwab would never of let this happen!

"Bring back Schwab!" .. Too early?

Jesus. Settle down people. Next time your stuck in traffic or late for a game, ring up the AFL and ask them to delay the game until you get there. Guess what? Shirt happens!

I think it's poor that the club promoted the training session to be at a certain time but then couldn't even stick to the revised time.

I just ducked down quickly for a look as I work in Richmond - thanks to Demonland I wasn't stuck waiting for an hour in the sun! Saw a couple of different full ground circle work drills - mark, handball, kick, run, repeat. Most of the kicking and passing was pretty sharp and kicking to space in some instances was also pretty good. The only thing I didn't see was players challenging themselves with their opposite foot - definitely an area I think most of our players could improve on.

Impressed by the size of Vandenberg, smooth mover for a big mid and I look forward to seeing a bit more of him. Looking forward to more in-depth reports from whoever else was there.

It must be a coach's instruction, because it's something I've noticed at training as well. Only player I've seen regularly kick the ball on his non-preferred foot is Garlett.

Is it too hard for the club to have someone come and talk to the supporters and keep them informed as to what is happening and why?

It's called public relations and the MFC has no idea. This is the area where Chris Connolly is most missed.

Sure it's not ideal but we don't know the reasons for the delay. I'm sure the club didn't sit back and say "let's screw the supporters"

Surely the point is DF that all the conditions that surrounded this event on the Monday of Moomba are known.

Large crowds, difficult to get there and Park etc.

The Club set this up as a day for fans to come along.

Then at the last minute the time is changed from Morning to afternoon and then run late for the afternoon session.

No they did not start with the intention to mess up.

But they still seem to have achieved it.

We are still a long way off the the league leaders.

Even from the other side of the world I knew the details of this event leading up to it.

Extremely poor form by the club. Roos has taken a broom through half the club, PJ may need to borrow that broom as from what I have seen there are still people at the club that are not serious professionals.

Twitter is available on the website and Melbourne app, but the definitely should have let every Melbourne supporter know via carrier pigeon.

It was clearly advertised that the open training session started at 12:00. We arrived 15 minutes early to get a snag and watch the boys train for an hour or so.

By 1:30 they were just getting their jumpers on for a warm up.

We had to get our car from a two hour spot some walk away so we left.

A family next to us with four boys did the same.

This is why we have been on the bottom of the ladder these last years.

This would not have happened at Hawthorn, that's why they are on the top!!!

Whoever at the club thought that this was acceptable form should get their backsides kicked.

To treat supporters, many of whom are families, like this is just not acceptable.

Disappointing from the club. If you advertise it in advance and make a big deal of it, then you need to stick to it. They changed the times late and then didn't even stick to that. They should have just had a normal training session and not advertised it if that was going to be the case.

Very disappointing experience as a supporter and golden opportunity wasted by the club. I turned up with the extended family at 12pm as advertised and left with a bunch of grumpy kids at about 1.15pm with players just beginning to turn up. We certainly didn't feel like our club was inclusive or accessible today.

I can't help but link this to the Great Membership Drive and the clubs stated goal of breaking their membership record. How many of those families who sat around for an hour waiting and then left again are going to become members this year? I wonder how many of their kids are going to listen to their mates and follow a decent side instead?

All I can say to those who had to leave again before anything happened is please don't just vent on here. Write to the club and tell them about your experience. Let them know that they dropped the ball and they might have a look at the way they are handling supporter activities and do things better next time. Put it in terms of memberships. A supporter telling them that they had planned on buying four memberships today but left disgusted after the team never showed is a quantifiable loss to the club, and if they get enough people saying it they will listen.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
