Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

James was, I thought, really poor today.

Don't mean to sound reactionary, but if he goes, I'm sure we can parlay the compensation pick into another mid fielder. Preferably one who can compete, hold their feet and hit targets.

Clearly our best today. He didn't look like being beaten one-on-one either. He also offered great drive off half back and his kicking was excellent, especially his long kicking. The way he was revving the boys up at the start, tells me he's staying.

Frawley is a good defender, as he shown today.

He can defend. But he cannot do much else.

Average footballer, below average decision maker.

Rubbish. He provided fantastic run off half back. Roos and the FD clearly gave him a licence to run today and it paid off. We looked so much better for it early on. It was the last line of defence that looked shaky today. We really made some poor decisions back there. It didn't help that Bail was pinged for deliberate, taking the ball over the goal line, whilst being tackled. It made our defenders second guess themselves for the rest of the afternoon.

Im gonna actually stick up for Frawley now. It was his fault in the Bontempelli goa. He had 4 Melbourne guys behind him watching him get the ball. There was ABSOLUTELY NO talk to him to say his hot. No one even pushed over to try and sheppard him.

Rohan bail needs a foot up the ass out of all that. Got brushed aside by a skinny 18 year old in an attempt to tackle!

Where's the 'report' button gone? You guys are pathetic.

Fine...the post had been edited so as not to offend people like yourself.

It was harsh and crude...but thats how I was feeling immediately after todays game.

Now feel free to edit the quote in your post if you so wish..

People having a go at Frawley's game today obviously have bias given his contract status.

Absolutely smashed his opponent and provided run. Made some poor decisions but the whole team's mindset was poor. Garland was much worse.

Some comments on him have been pathetic. Likely from the same people who talk up loyalty. Spare me.

Lucas gave him 3 votes today as clearly best player on the ground.

I thought Boyd killed us, particularly in the first half, but Frawley was certainly our best and deservedly in the top 2 players on the ground.

Frawley was very good today.

Anyone who says they want him gone are simply doing so to lessen their disappointment if he leaves.

I dont thin thats as cut and dried as you suggest. He for all his good work today committed some horrendous clunkers of decisions. He ought to be way above those. So where's his head ? I ahve to ask

Well I can tell you right now that I won't be one bit disappointed if Frawley leaves.

You and a few others keep saying that, which is clearly ridiculous as we'll be receiving high band compensation if he leaves.

That's the reason myself and others don't care, it's got nothing to do with 'prepping myself for disappointment'.

Gee so many varied opinions, I also thought he was poor today , When the game was there to be won his direct opponent kicked two telling goals on him. I reckon he had three kicked on him today. Made some shocking decision errors. I really am not fussed if he stays or goes to be honest. I think we win regardless!

Some comments on him have been pathetic.

I'm in the stay, go, whatever camp with Chip, but I don't see why people want to border on the obscene when it comes to trashing him.

There was a comment a page or so ago about him being a cum bucket. If I was a mod here that would be the last post that person ever made on D'land.

We get that you will be happy to see him go.

We also see that your critique of his effort today shows your knowledge of football and

You again show that you can't objectively view a players performance through your obvious bias.

He made some clangers as did others. I think you'll find that most unbiased commentators will put him in our best half dozen today. And rightly so.

Bontempelli should give Frawley half of his goal of the year prize

What a pathetic effort , had 2 chances to clear the ball and was completely useless and basically handed them the goal

If we get a top 5 pick for Frawley we will be overcompensated thats for sure

Dumber than his uncle and it shows in his decision making

WHY ANY BODY CARES IF HE GOES IS BEYOND ME those who want him to stay can have him

he was good today, seemed to have his spark back.... Im not sure he is staying though? But If he did stay, id play him of the half back line and keep Dunn at full back..

How many unrestricted free agents that have said: I will leave my decision if I stay or go till seasons end.Tthen re-signed with that club?

None that I can think off.

I am 99% sure he is gone at seasons end, same as all the others who have played this "waiting game"

I hope he stays. We have become a FA feeder club in recent times for obvious reasons. Now it's time for it to stop. We are on the improve and good loyal players like Dunn are showing the way.

If he goes I hope we get decent compensation or I will be [censored].

End of rant.

Don't disagree with any of this, but unlike others you are not allowing what we as supporters feel very uncomfortable about regarding his contract, with how he is actually playing.

I've been in the keep him camp until today I thought some of his lapses cost us the game and when the ball went through his legs it was embarrassing. Terlich got clean bowled too, how can that happen to AFL footballers.

Seems most of the negative comments are based around one moment... He dominated Jones today, pretty much handed him the sub vest and his drive from the back line was almost back to his best... Not many key position defenders, destroy there opponent while pulling in midfielder stats..

Clearly opinions here are skewed because he hasn't extended his contract... I get it.. Its the old push him away, so it doesn't hurt when he leaves... He will be missed, regardless of any opinion here...

Perfectly put. Despite your feeling on the contract situation, if you cant view his game objectively you just look silly.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
