Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The AFL has now issued the NAB AFL Pre-Season Draft Order:-

4 - Brisbane Lions

5 - Richmond

Round Two

I wonder if Sydney will extend the farce by leaving it to take Tippett at pick 17 knowing everyone else is priced out of the market.

Credit to the Swans for their success but getting an aditional leg up while others struggle, stinks.

Juzzo on bigfooty has produced a Phantom PSD and Rookie Draft which is reproduced below.

Apparently, a number of clubs are likely to pass up on their PSD selections for list management reasons and Juzzo appears to have taken this into account which is why I've chosen his phantom draft over some of the others.

It's also reasonably consistent with this article that appeared recently on the AFL site - http://m.afl.com.au/news/2012-12-06/clubs-shy-away-from-psd?utm_medium=RSS]Clubs shy away from draft crop

Category B apparently relates to that exotic group of zone and international selections which Melbourne rarely ever gets involved in these days.

I find it interesting that we have had only one player was invited to train but have two vacancies to fill at the rookie draft. I suppose we'll find out soon enough who the other player will be.

Rokie draft, pick 40 GC Suns - Aliir Aliir, what a great story!

Best of luck.

Family drives draft hopeful and former Kenyan refugee Aliir Aliir

Agreed. I would love to see Aliir Aliir at the Dees. Great story and the potential to be an x factor player. Cool name too.

I could see this being a great way to promote the code in Kenya as it would create quite a lot of media there I would imagine.

Juzzo from Bigfooty has Melbourne selecting Ben Duscher with pick 18 in the rookie draft. He could be a handy pickup - captain of the Bendigo Bombers and highly regarded amongst many Bomber supporters.

Ben Duscher ©

D.O.B: 29-09-1987 Height: 186 cm Weight: 83 kg Club

Bendigo Football Club

Originally from Mildura and then with the Bendigo Pioneers, Ben spent time under our current assistant coach Daniel Schmidt at Rochester where they shared a GVFL Premiership. Ben returned to Bendigo in 2010. He was rewarded for his strong showing with the Co-Captaincy in 2011 and lead 'from the front' which is his way. A strong midfielder who can be relied upon to go forward and find the goals. Appointed Co-Captain again in 2012. Winner of the 2011 Nick Carter Medal & Runner-up in 2012.

I would be none too impressed if we took another VFL inside midfielder. We've already got Magner, Couch and M Jones, if we go for another one they'll be 4th in line for only one spot in the team unless they are versatile.

I'm still keen on outside types and particularly a small forward.

I'm hoping that's the way the PSD pans out, leaving Jack Hannath to us if he's at the top of our list.

I thought Neeld said he would take a young project player in the rookie draft, so picking another 25 year old would suprise me.

I'd be really suprised if Melbourne picked him up but I can confirm that we've talked to him and shown a bit of interest.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
