Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I love having fun with the side, but this could be close enough to the side we put out on the park in round 1.

Of course injurys come into play also and F Ray may not make it over to the dees.

If we go out with similar side like this we are not going to be a walk over like 2012.

#1 We have strong bodied, tall forward line.

#2 Quick run and spread players like Blease, Byrnes, F Ray* Davey if he gets his body right.

#3 Midfield that can rotate forward Jones, Grimes, Trengrove Bail, Howe, Sylvia all can play mid/forward

#4 And also this is one more preseason under Dave Misson players like Grimes, Trengrove, Howe, Watts, Blease,

#5 We are going to be stronger and matured,

Save to say I am excited are you?

Nearly every small man on your team has /had an issue at some time.

It occurs to me that we actually NEED Neville Jetta in the team.

I cant see Tappscott going backwards either.

Heres mine-assuming a full list ,injury free ,which never happens.

Trengove starting on the bench? outrageous

I also like that you've added players who are currently at other clubs

Neeld started Trengrove on the bench this year, OUTRAGEOUS? hardly, Have you seen who starts on the bench for Collingwood each week?

Its the modern game, starting on the bench and coming on 3 minutes into a game what is the difference?

Was a flip between him and Viney and it was just my opinion to go with Viney.

Other players such as Pederson and Dawes which alll reports say are 85% or more going to play with the dees in 2013, and F Ray who I stated may not make it over to us??

Get with it mate

Agree with Good Times Grimes and jnr mac. Too early. Not even half way through trade period and FA still a week to go. Plus a draft. I'll wait until our list is more complete.

I went a little early I know, Tim Harington is cooking up a storm.

i didn't agree with him starting on the bench then and i don't now, no need to get all up in arms about it. You're telling me round 1 2013 you want one of your captains on the bench? I think you should "get with it"

I believe we started a game this year with both Grimes and Trengove on the bench!

The teams suggested are interetsting but I iook at them and wonder what an opposition coach would think. Without significant improvement by some players it's still not daunting. I can see them winning a few more games but not challenging for a top 8 position. Somebody please tell me I'm wrong?

ps There are a handfull of players that would be lucky to be named on the bench of a top team.

I hope we do the deals that we've been planning - Rivers out if we can't keep him, Pedersen and Dawes in and Farren Ray in is an interesting one. I'm sure Neeld will be keen to play Ray and Byrnes if he gets them over because otherwise why would you bother? But it puts pressure on the likes of Bail, Blease and Tapscott to hold their spots. Whilst I'm sure our midfield depth will be much improved this year and the likely Viney/Wines combo hopefully adds 2 stars of the future we will rely on depth much more than talent next year.

For all the excitement about Viney etc, the team (in its various versions) is pretty mediocre, at best. We've got a long way to go in building a good list.

Nevertheless, it's a massive improvement on what took the field this year.

I hope this draft/trade period will be look upon in future years as a rebirth. When we got rid of the chaff and started to recruit FOOTBALLERS.

Neeld appears to be a fan of Joel MacDonald so he will probably push one player out.

The list above is probably who I want to be in there, not who will be.

Neeld will msot definitely use Viney, pick 4.. i do think he will choose to use Barry before he decides to use Jetta, to develop Barry.

Its a very solid looking side with pick 4 being a midfielder (hopefully)

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
