Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Rollo, DeeM is Deemitch. not that it really matters.

and hopefully we get another one of these games early next year. I don't know about the other 'outs' but i'm getting sick of not wearing that red and blue

well, mate thanks for clearing that up...

it has taken the other forums over a year to forget their humiliation at the hands of the mighty dee mon landers...

so, after October 21, you might have to wait for a couple more years... B)

still, I have passed on everything I know to scotty, the bomberblitz organiser, so maybe we are in for a scare on October 21...

somehow, despite the absence of some of our best regulars, my gut says the team we have will prevail...

Dear Whispering Jack,

You are the coach,and I am not a coach’s bootlace…

but I am the only demonlander who has watched every game we have played as demonland/demonology/dees bigfooty since 2006, so I feel entitled to give you my thoughts…

rollo2 is my son. Played his junior soccer as a close-checking defender, but in AFL does not have a defensive bone in his body. Took the winning mark and kicked the winning goal for us that sent talkingcarlton out of forum footy (hopefully not) forever… awkward kicking style, but has never missed a set shot for us, not quite 6 foot but marks above his height, especially when the kick is centered to the goal square. Recommend starting forward pocket…

Rollo2 is bringing 2 mates… unknown quantities…

Deanox is a veteran. Fierce ( davey like) tackler on the forward line and surprising goal-kicker. Recommend starting forward pocket to crumb at the contest…

The Russian, another veteran, has been our starting CHB for many years. There has been muttering from this hulking mass of football talent in past years, but no formal written complaint. In the absence of rivvo, heater and charlesy this year, I recommend we name him as starting CHF. When he shanks his first couple of shots at goal, he will thank you for sending him down back…

The Russian’s mate…unknown quantity…

Demonland 7… new player, unknown quantity…

Jonesbag… new player, unknown quantity, but puts himself forward as a midfielder. Wise would like the bragging, so I recommend we start him on a wing, and promote him to midfield if his performance deserves…

Yossarian…new player…unknown quantity…

Cowboy from hell… veteran… in heater’s absence, demands the FF spot he played so well in heater’s last absence

The stynes factor…veteran who will equal the mickrocks1 record for most games played if mick does not play this time…superfit red-haired midfielder…I recommend him as Captain in the absence of Wise and starting Centre…

Nat is a talented player, smaller but can play anywhere on the flanks. A goal sneak, he can also tag. I remember him playing for demonology against demonland tagging charlesy. Charlesy asked his brother, heater, if he had managed to lay a punch on Nat. “Not even close” said heater. Hey, coach, nat can tag, but I recommend him as a starting Half-back who will run all day…

Syrus…new player…unknown quantity…

Leeroy…new player…brother of dazledavy36…Athletic Ruckman of the natanui type ! Wants to change at CHB, releasing the Russian to play CHF…

Demon tingles… veteran… best at FB, so his bellowing only unnerves the backline, and is not heard full-blast by our gittery forwards when they are shooting for goal…

Dazzledavey36…veteran midfielder who picks himself…I recommend starting midfield…

Saka88…new player…unknown quantity…

Grimes4…veteran…this guy can play anywhere…he rucks, he roves, he reads music, he is ron barassi reborn…I recommend he start in midfield…

Tom…veteran…Ruckman…multiple award winner from past games…recommend starting ruckman changing with Leeroy at CHB…

Tassie dee…veteran…smaller player…can play anywhere on the flanks…great shot for goal on the run…recommend starting HB…

Melournefc…veteran…like rollo2, no defensive bones…multiple goalkicker in past games…needs to be close to goal…recommend forward pocket when substituting …

So, Jack, my best guess at a starting line-up:

B: yossarian/ demon tingles/ the russian’s mate

HB: nat/ leeroy/ tassie dee

C: jonesbag/ the stynes factor/ tassie dee mate1

HF: rollo2 mate1/ the Russian/ demonland7

F; rollo2/ cowboy from hell/ deanox

Followers: tom, dazzledavey36, grimes4

Players and observers, please feel free to comment…

Whispering Jack will do what he wants on the day…

In past games, our major problem has been the crowding of our forward line by our own players…

This game, I would beg our backs and wings to trust our talented forwards to kick the goals…

You guys are just causing congestion if you go forward…

Better to form a defensive barrier at the centre to send the pill back if and when it comes back out…

Rollo has said more than enough…

Good call for DL7 on the HFF. I'm happy to go down back once we've won the game but only after I've kicked 5 or 6.

As you know I am new, what do we wear?

I also enjoyed my write up, along with everyone elses and am quite happy to be playing on the wing.

I assume a melbourne jumper is the go with any shorts ?

Pretty much. I always bring a few spares down if anyone needs one, provided they don't mind having no.40 on the back

Actually I'm 3.2 from set shots for Demonland. No Buddy Franklin, but still fairly bad. ;)

Also all my VAFA this year was in defence and am starting to get the hang of it. But do like a run up forward.

PS I think Syrus may have played last game, I remember a fairly big key position type who played CHB but may deserve a shot up forward this time. Could be wrong though. ?

can't see any problem with this, scotty, except if some team needs to sit out for two games, we would rather draw lots...

(it's pretty bloody boring)...

kind of hoping either saints or pies pull out, so we have 3 teams and 3 games...

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
