Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Simple poll question. Let's see where it's at four years on.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... Poor old Range Rover... Runs off to a "cleverly" worded poll anytime he has a weak argument...

You're judging a guy in a top 4 team against a guy playing in the most under siege backline in the AFL? Yeah, great poll mate...

It's the most simply worded poll imaginable. A monkey could understand it. You can too if you try hard enough.

Let's se what the results say.

Funnily enough you didn't put this thread up after one of Watts' good games though. You chose to put it up after his second game back from a major ankle injury against a top 4 team, not exactly brave are you?

Hypotheticals...

Fun.

As underwhelming as Watts can be, I am not that enamoured with Natinui.

I am intrigued to see what Watts could be, and I know that as we get better he will get exponentially more useful.

He will be a valuable player in an era that I see skills playing a huge role in.

Ive been backing Watts for a while now. Im probably like many waiting for him to truly emerge.

Was very impressed with NicNat this round. Loved his Dont argue. Classic. He IS imposing himself on games. I Dont see it yet in Jack.

Ask me again in ayear.

Not sure NicNat would be so great at MFC either.

Remember hearing about NicNat requiring a lot of work to develop, and involving him roaming the field at practice with an iPod and iPhone at different times, giving him instructions.

If we had have done that at MFC in his first year he'd have been running around with a cassette tape deck strapped to his back.

Naitanui could play with a a full surround sound stereo system and 42" plasma TV strapped to his back and he'd still be better than Watts.

Oh come on folks. Most people, not wearing serious red and blue goggles, would say we blew it. Nait is an out an out gun . G.U.N. I dont feel too bad as Im not unhappy happy with Watts (as a work in progress) ....but man, give me Nait any day of the week. Do we really have to keep picking open this scar? I console myself with the thought that he may not have wanted to stay in Victoria and Imagine the riots if we had 2 number ones walk out!

If I go with THAT scanario then I choose Watts.

I voted that we got it right between these two due to the fact that there is no way Natanui would still be here if we had drafted him in 08. As well as that Natanui is a supreme athlete but average footballer; poor skills and still struggles to read the play.

However if it was Watts vs other players of that draft of course we could have got it right-er or wrong-er, just like every draft.

I believe we made the correct choice.

Niknat is a two pony show horse who plays one good game in a half a dozen.

Watts is more reliable and plays more consistently.

To answer this question the lack of development of players within the club must be considered, plus role models. Naita has Dean Cox alongside him - who has Jack had? I am sure if Jack was drafted by Hawthorn or Geelong he would be much better than he is at the moment purely due to who he would be surrounded by.

I'm still backing him in. I just hope Neeld is as patient.

FFS talk about comparing apples with oranges, Range Rover have I missed the declaration on first prize for starting the most number of threads for the season.

Similar to the Hodge/Ball/Judd draft of 2001 everyone will be a winner

It's a simple poll question PSD. if you're having trouble with it don't take part.

Really scraping the barrel there with that one.

Maybe you should stop pushing your "agenda" and let the poll ride itself out...

I'll make comment wherever I see fit.

Mate as did I two totally different players and there is no right or wrong answer to the question IMO. and in case you are not aware just because you think it's a simple poll question does not make it one. No point answering/or not answering a question without providing a reason which is why I used the 2001 scenario to clarify the comparison

Naitanui would have gone home or to GWS without a doubt, would have been a wasted pick.

Sheedy would have thrown everything into getting Nic Nat he would have been the poster boy. Maybe he would have developed with us or maybe he wouldn't. If we'd had Nic we mightn't have got the priority pick and got scully and trengove . If we could kick and mark and tackle and had a game plan we would be playing finals.

Lets just get on with what we can do and do it better.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P
