Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I'm not usually a fan of highlights videos but that was superimpressive.

If he's 20 years old and playing in the main comp. in Tassie, then he can be traded for an uncontracted player pick from GWS. Well worth doing, especially if we can trade out a couple of players.

Agree WJ. Does look good. Can you arrange it.

Looks very impressive. Seems to have that speed that Sam Blease has, moves quick without knowing it. The way you can tell is by the blokes chasing him get the Cale Hooker head wobble. Video highlights and exactly what they are. Highlights. What's the back ground on him?

Kicked 34 goals in 17 games. And got named 5 times in the best.. Obviously was playing forward early then moved into the midfield because a lot of his goals were in rounds 1-5. Only being in the best 5 times shows that he didn't exactly set the world on fire. Also think he was named in the Tasmanian state team. Don't know if he played Tassie Under 18s.

This is the most impressive highlights video you will ever see! He has everything - pace, good mark, good kick, takes the game on etc.

Someone with a skill set like that should be tearing a Tassie competition apart. With only 5 times in the best he must have some serious work rate issues...

He looks far too fast for the guys he's playing against in Tassie. I do wonder what his pace would look like when he's facing some of the better running half backs and mids at AFL level, but it would be good to find out. One other thing I noted was that he seemed a little selfish in some of those passages, running loops around opponents rather than passing. It looks great, but it only takes one of those guys to get a grip and he's suddenly a dud.

All that being said, damn he looked impressive. He can kick, he hits the packs with pace and takes the ball cleanly and as has been noted, his short passing game is very good. He obviously plays all over the park, although I'd like to see us take him as a small forward. Certainly worth either dealing with GWS or just drafting him. Could we get lucky in the second round again?

What about WJ's suggestion of doing a pick swap with GWS to get him now. Sure it is speculative but he looks so exciting.

Interesting commentary on some of that footage. Just retired, handy cricketer, very good golfer and a nice bloke too. (Brett Geeves)

Highlights looked really good. Most so in matches at Bellerive Oval against Clarence because you know he would have had good opponents then.

What about Robbie Campbell to GWS for Hall picked by them and ontraded. They need a ruckman desperately and he is a Premiership ruckman and very good club man.If Hall didn't make it you haven't lost much. Alternatively a pick upgrade for GWS as trade. Our 72 for their 80.

As much as I'd like to help I'm in Frankston at the moment and can't work miracles although I might be able to duck down the road to Seaford and see what I can do with Brendan Goddard.

The complication is that GWS can activate ten uncontracted players under the rule and most are spoken for.

They signed James McDonald last month and have traded six so far this trade period (Steven Morris, Marty Clarke, Jamie Elliott, Ahmed Saad, Terry Milera and Luke Brown). They are expected to keep Western Jet Adam Kennedy and Casey defender Tim Mohr which leaves one spot open.

I understand that Sheedy would love to get Andrew Lovett into the club but he has to convince his board who aren't so keen.

And I'm not sure that the GWS are going to be easy to deal with over their last choice under the rule.

Still, we've just learned what perseverance can achieve.

I love this site but i don't post often. How do we get this bloke? Looks like he can run all day like scully, can kick better than scully, can mark and goal better than scully. I realise it's not the strongest league but geez there are worse running around in the AFL. This kid should get snapped up!

We've been wondering that very thing. GWS has one pick left to pre-list a player and possibly trade him on. We could get him that way. They've been trading guys from this set pretty cheaply to other clubs, so who knows what they'd ask of us? In a few cases they've given players for second and third round pick upgrades, and that would be an absolute bargain.

If we couldn't get him through GWS and he were still available, the National draft would be the way to go. We might get lucky and grab him with our first pick (round 2), but in a weak draft I can see him going quite early. I doubt he'd slip to the PSD or Rookie drafts, although you can never tell what will happen on the day.

This boy will be In demand. Gws may want him for themselves.

Good luck getting him.

Agreed on all fronts. So we ask for just a little more luck from the Football Gods and try to get our hands on him prior to the draft if at all possible. Give them Warnock and a third round pick. Hell, give them a second round pick. It'd be worth it.

Could they, I haven't kept up with these GWS rules.

He looks very good through traffic with speed as well + acceleration off the mark. Nice kick and thinks on his feet.

Looks great.

You can certainly get sucked in by highlight reels and I along with many other Demonlanders have been in this case.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
