Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Get Well Jimmy

Would seem the end could be near...... I hope Jimmy can find the streagth to go another round.

Simply terrible

Lets hope not.

He's quite a man old Jim. But i wouldn't write him off just yet. As we all know, Jim's one hell of a fighter, and although he's been through the mill umpteen times already, there's still some fightin' left in him yet i reckon.

But yeh....i'd prefer to see him focus on what's important right now and conserve all his energy until he's totally overcome this bloody cursed thing.

I think a very long holiday in the tropics afterwards with family would also do him good.

Thanks for everything you've done for us so far mate! Amazing, inspirational stuff!

Go get em Jimma!!

Absolutely devastating news. In the real scheme of things my greatest wish as a Melbourne fan is to see big Jim get better and continue to do great work for our club for many years to come. He is truly an inspiration and the MFC will never be doomed when we have guys of his calibre around the place. Get well Jimmy

Don't let last monday be the last time Jimmy was seen.

I realise Jim has yet another huge fight on his hands. And we have to respect what him and family decide on from here re commitments and his health situation of course.

But, i'd also hate for Jim to be going into this battle, however long this one takes, thinking that he had to step out (for now), on such a low ebb in the club's long history. It was in no way his fault and i think we'd all love to thank him for his efforts so far and show him our support and hopefully give him a bit of a boost.

Just wondering if someone close to the club (one of the Mods or someone on here) might be able to speak to someone and consider arranging a big "thank you/honor" day for Jimma and family to help them through this tough period??

Would have to be the Richmond or Gold Coast game obviously. I'd prefer Richmond as the crowd would be huge and a much more appreciative/appropriate atmosphere for such an occasion.

Just putting it out there.

Anyone?

P.S. As an aside, this could also become a decent fund raiser if Jim wanted. He can choose the recipient...Reach or Cancer Foundation etc.

This is devastating to hear, I was really concerned when I saw his presser on Monday and this triples it. Please take it easy Jimmy, you've given us so much strength lately, leave some for yourself and focus on what's important.

Thoughts and all the best wishes are with you.

I am so sad about this.

I hope those inside the MFC take a good hard look at the last few months....It sure hasn't helped Jimmy in his fight

Now grow up the lot of you, and function like a Club...Give Stynesy some energy FFS.

Don't let last monday be the last time Jimmy was seen.

What a week!!!

Those images of poor Jim fronting the media all due to the BS that has been brewing all year were extremely difficult to watch! I was taken aback by how ill he looked. You have done everything you possibly can for your club Jim and we love you for it mate. Time to rest Jimmy, and all our wishes are with you. You do not deserve the heartache our club has burdened you with......sort it out Garry please!!

Jimmy my thoughts are with you, Sam and the kids. For their sake take the step back and enjoy your time with them. Your work with the Dees is done, I can not put into words what you have done for me or this club. I had two infant sons when you took over the club and thought there would be no club for them to follow as they grew up. You have without doubt inspired, drawn people together and given us hope.

To everyone at Demonland, or anyone who involved in anyway with the club, if we don't take inspiration from this man we are a disgrace. What has come to light over the last week sickens me to the core but as we have seen Jimmy's first thoughts are with the club and apologising that he hasn't done enough. He want's to sort the mess out before sorting himself out.

I don't care about Scully, the board in fighting or the players not getting on with admin, board members etc. Lets hope Jimmy recovers but everyone of us owe it to this man and his family. We must continue the fight as jimmy would, forget our differences and move forward. We must all give Jimmy something to be proud of. If we can't do that than I feel very sorry for this club.

Jimmy take care brother, worry about Sam and the kids don't worry about the Dees with your inspiration "Tiocfadh Ar Lor"

Jimmy you are a great warrior, keep fighting mate! Your resilience in your playing career and your life battle is truly inspirational. If those blokes on the field could harness the strength you produce in one day it would power all of them for the next 5 years and multiple premierships.

Lets all get to the game on Saturday and get a smile back on Big Jims face!

Go Dees!

From the moment you pulled on the red and blue, you've inspired us with your determination, courage, desire and relentless pursuit of excellence. But most of all we are inspired by the the man that you are. You set an extraordinary example for all of us to follow. As always, we're barracking for you, mate.

If I had the power I would happily give up the premiership I so want to see, just to see Jimmy get better.

I hope he doesn't cause himself further stress by going on Saturday. If he does God I hope they can win for him.

a red hot effort would be a good start

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
