Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Just taking a break from spreading good will in the Far East colonies

chanced upon biffen yesterday - he was drunk of course and invited uncle to a luncheon

It was a surprisingly decent tavern and despite being surrounded by his shady associates and a poor choice of wine the tucker was rather good

come bill paying time Biffen fell for the old chestnut that I'd left my wallet in my room safe

bwahaha! One to uncle bitter!

I'm sure that's not all you'll be spreading around the Far East

I'm back and now refreshed. Although I note that this  interlectual thread has been sadly neglected in my absence.

I did have to take have a few days rest after my sojourn to the colonial outposts. (Being fawned over for a week can be very arduous  - even for one who is accustomed to flattery)

I had little success in avoiding Biffen unfortunately. Though I must say he has a surprising and extensive network of contacts over there. Albeit among the drunken and drug addicted class. As I understand it, he is currently working his way through  rural villages buying antiquities and funerary artefacts from the poor and ignorant. He makes the British Museum look like a philanthropic organisation.

I have also noted some irregularities on my credit card statement and, as I had Biffen conduct a financial transaction for me, I fear he may have "Sylvia'd" me !

Exactly!

I fear my wit is wasted.

Indeed Uncle Bitter.

Reading your many witticisms and weighty proclamations on here is akin to two George Clooneys making love by candle light in a villa by Lake Como between silk sheets, such is the carisma and eloquence bursting from every word.

Ignore these heathens who cast aspergers  on you.

You are clearly a man of refined taste Col - a  cut above the riff and raff with whom I appear to be increasingly surrounded.

However, if I may be so bold as to one make one correction to your above epistle. Surely you meant to say " those who cast nasturtiums on you"?

I may have. By this stage of one's life, the brain starts to waver.

I try to add levity to proceedings and to raise the general tenor of the cultural effluvia that gets belched out here. Being a man of letters, cheap booze and the Melbourne Football Club, I know you are on the same page.

For all intensive purposes, I thought carisma was a perfectly cromulent word.

There has been some disturbing developments in the "Women told to score mOre" thread.

Expertise offered on what is and what isn't sexist behaviour/commentary.

Its not as if i need help in this field. it has been my lifes' work.

Next we will be getting pointers on smut, innuendo and filth.

like throwing donuts at the resident labrador that lives in the French restaurant-enough is never enough.

I'm amazed you made it through quarantine and even more surprised i made it through customs.

I travelled in "premium Economy' making acquaintance with a silly Polish man who agreed to carry some items through customs for me.

Needless to say, I am potentially rich as ever and am also in possession of some 3000 year old trinkets  to boot.

A good year beckons for the yours truly despite the uprooting I have suffered in Fitzroy St.

I look forward to looking down on you in the coming year, authoritarian interference notwithstanding, as ever.

Wow I remember  when this Thread was about the humble banana.

To see now where it has moved too is truely amazing.

Precisely. The thread’s been completely derailed for the last 700 or so pages and it’s time to get back on topic.

I’m surprised, no shocked ? that nobody has picked up on this comment by Deeman on the AFLW thread about last week's game v GWS Giants:-

“I understand the concern about Mifsud’s absence for us but what I really want to know is why [censored] wasn’t playing for them!”

On that basis bb I had a very nice banana and peanut butter sandwich for lunch today. Better than a Dees win because one is guaranteed and the other never certain.

You are treading on thin ice with that line in this thread WJ.

I won't be in a better mood tomorrow as my favourite horse Briefed, who was running 2nd at Flemington today and was probably going to win the sprint final, bled, then was eased out of the race and will be banned from racing for 3 months.

I am 100% certain that is undoubted cause for a banning Mr. leg. However the big problem is how we enforce it. Hmm!

Sadly no Bbo only a banana sandwich today. Just came across it while looking for something else and thought it should be commented on again a grevious sin that has gone unpunished. By the way the latest Pino vintage is very good. It pays to stay in the favour of your sisters I have discovered.

I'm pleased to hear the local pinot is a success this year.

Sadly OD, I lack your contacts and am unable to guzzle it freely.

Now on another matter.

Even during my relatively short viewing of tv, I have been assailed by a flood of adds for a program called "married at first sight".

Unless I have been overcome by shiraz and passed out, I don't believe I have ever watched a so called "reality" show.

Do any of you fellow interlectuals watch this stuff? Could someone tell me who does?

Am I making a harsh judgement based on little evidence in saying this stuff is rubbish?

I just get the impression that it must be some sort of black hole that sucks out whatever brain cells remain. This whole concept of "reality" tv befuddles me.

Perhaps I am totally out of touch with the world - a strong possibility I'll admit.

Please enlighten me.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
