Colin Sylvia's 100th game this week

I wish him all the best against Richmond in his 100th game and for the remainder of the season.

In a footy career to date that has been arguably frustrating for him and his fans, for various reasons well documented. Sylvia has undoubtedly turned it on in recent weeks having endured an interrupted start to the 2010 season; following on from most likely his best season in 2009 for the Melbourne Football Club.

A player who finishes well, a player who is working hard to get the best out of himself (consistently), and one who realises what he has to offer his footy club.

Thumbs up to those at the club who have contributed to aspects of improving Sylvia's game.

A star below his shoulders... always has been.

Now that his brain seems to be switched on (maybe his brain is in his toe and that was the issue all along? ), he is performing at a level which does justice to his immense natural talent. You don't get picked third in the draft if you possess no skills.

Credit to him for turning his career (and I assume his life) around and making it to 100. Can't wait to see what the next 100 games bring.

I think the word "elite" is thrown around too often in footy these days, but there's absolutely no doubt that Colin Sylvia is an elite footballer when on song. And this past month has been as good as he has played, ever.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Colin Sylvia has more talent in that pustule they removed from his big toe than 90% of people to ever play the game. I'm sensing something big from Colin in his hundredth. I hope he makes his mother proud.

I have stuck with Col in my supercoach team all year and he is starting to produce big time at the business end of the season. Oh yeah... he is also pretty handy for MFC.

Sylvia is an immense talent. His form has been so awesome i have no doubt teams will try to tag him soon, might take him some time to learn to cope with that, but I love how he's developed.

As said once he got his brain switched on the right track he could be anything in this game.

Next year should be aiming for AA selection and the Bluey, if he applies himself he will get there no problems.

Col's form since his return has been so good that I'm convinced had he not had his two major injuries (broken jaw and the toe) we would be in the top eight right now.

Colin has always had the talent. He has matured into a leader. When Colins leads, players follow and we tend to win. His brilliance is becoming more of a week in week out thing now opposed to the every now and then we saw earlier on in his career.

I will be there cheering for #12. 100 games - 100 more to come.

What a 'journey'. First 3 games I think he totalled 2 possessions. First 50 games, promise but ordinary...last 49 games, MFC's most damaging player.

Had he not missed 7 games thus far, I'd guess he'd be an outside shot at All-Australian contention. A couple more real good games and he just might be a chance.

Remember the days of hearing the crowd yelling in anger "SYLVIA"? Now everybody is yelling "SYLVIA" When he grabs the ball 70 out from goal and dobs it

When he's on we dominate. He dominated vs Essendon, he dominated vs Sydney, he dominated the first half last night and we were 30 up at half time.

If he's off, however, we lose his spark and drive through the middle.

Just another example of why we need to get games into our youngsters.

It wasn't until Sylvia got to about the 60 game mark that he started to show his star qualities consistently.

It wasn't until about 80 games he became a star.

A good point and highlights bailey's mantra about needing to get the first 50 games under the belt. And with a big crop of our younger talent likely to hit thid mark in the next couple of yeats, things are kooking good...

Hopefully DB leaves him in the midfield for the rest of the year. IMO he has really stepped up the last couple of weeks because he has had to shoulder much of the load in the absence of Junior, Beamer and Trengove. Same goes for Jordie, and Jones to an extent. He won't have nearly as much impact on a HFF I reckon... although that's what he did last time against Richmond.
