Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Spent 12 months in the UK and really enjoyed some of the comedies they put out.

Gavin and Stacey - Took some time but really gre to like it. It is a bit like Kath and Kim (I did not like Kath and im at all) aking the [censored] out of Welsh and Essex types. Smiffy is very funny.

The IT Crowd - IT geeks working in the basement with a lady who pretends she knows IT but has no idea and has to deal with them daily.

How not to Live Your Life - 29yr old guy who can not make a good decision to safe himself battles through life.

I thought Mr.Bean was a good laugh, when it was on (still is). Rowan Atkinson - very funny man. The Black Adder (as previously mentioned) was also very good. Had me in stitches.

Did you watch The Thin Blue Line, highly underated and had Rowan in it as well. And of course Not The 9 o clock news

The Office UK is brilliant, Extras- im a massive ricky gervais fan!

Peep Show also. Extrememly funny show- witty, smart dialogue, very smut related also. The whole show is shot in third person perspective.. extrememly underrated, in fact- not even rated, I think. SBS had it for a while I think..

Little Britain sucks btw, just thought i'd throw that one in

Pretty much everything WYL has listed. Most of my favourites have been mentioned already somewhere in this thread, actually, but I'll add a few:

- Spaced (one of the best all-around shows I've ever seen)

- The Mighty Boosh (surprised this hasnt been mentioned yet)

- Garth Marenghi's Darkplace (brilliant pisstake of cheesy, 80s sci-fi and detective shows, has Richard Ayoade in it for any IT Crowd fans)

- The Goodies (no explanation needed)

Nostradeemus; I both agree and disagree with you about Little Britain. I actually really liked the first season, but it completely went downhill after that. They got rid of all the surreal and absurd kind of stuff like this:

and replaced it with puerile dreck like this:

Picked up a couple of gems when I was living in the UK.

Alan Partridge is brilliantly wrong, and if you like disturbed dark comedy The League of Gentlemen is an unusual experience.

Alan Partridge A HA...outstanding Steve Coogan is a modern day Genius!!

Don't think anyones mentioned this little pearler... the Mighty Boosch... a little more of an aqcuired taste but it is definately a more memorable sitcom..

Alan Partridge is steve coogan is it? Tell me more.. also, this league of gentlemen sounds intersting, a short plot outline if you may?

its about a fictional town that in Royson Valley with all characters acted by males, i call it a better version of Little Britain. Was only on for a few years

Yeah, the Boosh was mentioned, and just as well because it is a-may-zing! (This is an outrage!) I think The IT Crowd is a belter too (previously mentioned), some of the same guys from Boosh. Black Books was awesome in its day, got me on to Bill Bailey's brilliance. I also thoroughly enjoyed Coupling and the old skit show Big Train.

Peep Show is on ABC, even at the moment I think. I've caught a couple of episodes and didn't mind it. I'm pretty sure i've seen it pop up on iView as well.

Has Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister rated a mention yet? If any of you young whipper snappers out there haven't seen them get down to your local video store asap. Comedy gold that's barely dated a day in 30+ years.

The New Statesman is another brilliant political comedy but its a tad more over the top, as you'd expect from Rik Myall.

The Comic Strip Presents... could be a bit hit and miss but there was some cracking episodes, Mr Jolly lives next door is guaranteed to bring tears to the eyes of any Young Ones or Bottom fan.

Great series and rather apt considering the events of the day.

The Boosh is my personal favourite. I was warned it would take a few episodes to get into it, but I found it very funny. Went out and bought the box set from JB.

Not a fan of The IT Crowd.

Of the oldies, Black Adder was my favourite. The 2nd season was hilarious.

Got over Mr Bean quickly but still enjoyed it.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
