Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

'Game theory' requires all parties to make reasonable and rational decisions.

This is not a rational decision by Ball and his entourage, and it might lead to an unreasonable conclusion.

Sydney should spend 14 on him, PA should spend 16 on him, MFC should spend 18 on him, NM should spend 21 or 25 on him, Essendon should spend 24 or 26 on him, the Lions should spend 27 on him, and Collingwood should never get near him.

I am not saying we will spend 18 on him, but he represents a good value return for all those clubs I mentioned.

As I have said before - Luke Ball owes us nothing, but there is little doubt that he thinks that playing for us is akin to retirement and we should be wary.

well summised

Ah well, thats absolutely confirmed that Ball will not be a Demon in 2010.

He knew the date that the decision had to be made, and chose not to meet with Melbourne before that time.

Fairly short sighted of him, one would think.

I hope he gets picked up by Fremantle.

I cannot wait for Ball to end up at a club like Essendon.

He'll play 2 solid years of footy with them, they'll finish 6-8th during those 2 years.

Then in 3 yrs, the demons will storm past the bombers and be the most exciting and talented list going around. And i'll flip Ball the bird and he'll be wishing he'd had a little bit of foresight! Anyone with any sense could realise the demons have ammassed a rediculous amount of talent.

Ball's addition to our list would only slightly quicken our rise to the top.

However we'll still get to the top without him.

Q:If Ball is picked in the ND. Is it true that a player cannot nominate his salary, and must take whatever is offered?

Very correct!

A reason for players not to nominate for the National draft but instead to only nominate for the PSD is that they may set terms for their contract, however for the National draft they are not able to do this (contract periods and salaries are predetermined – generally based on the round or selection number the player is drafted with).

Actually this was the old rule. Players can now enter the ND and set their conditions. In some ways, in makes the Pre-season draft obsolete.

I believe that was changed a few years ago.

Same in both drafts.

As I see it he has shown no interest in MFC and has meet Collingwood????

but has he nominated for the draft or just delisted himself and has until the 18th to nominate for either draft... he may have been making the decision to leave the club now will interview all suitors as we may wish to get to collingwood but a few clubs might have other ideas and it would be best to meet with them (MFC not neccessarily being one of them)

I officially give up on everything list-management related

I guess we will accept your resignation.

I don't want any List Manager that doesn't want to here.

I know you're 25 and a leader, and the rules allow us to keep you on but if you don't want to be here...

Thanks.

I was just thinking that we could draft him. And then pay him minimum wage so he can play at Casey all year. Just to [censored] him off. He he

Or you could just put it another way ... anybody who thought it was St Kilda or Melbourne exclusively was wrong.

The events of today tell us one thing only ... he wont be a St Kilda next year!!!

Now is he still a chance to become a Demon ... hell yes. Is he a chance to play elsewhere ... hell yes.

Now we will all just have to sit, watch wait and see ...

If Luke Ball wanted to become a Demon, he knew the way to do it which would help strengthen the club and give us more quality youngsters. He has chosen the wrong way, which if we did select him, would see us lose pick 18, when we could have had Luke Ball and pick 18.

People, get over it. I dont want to have to read about how he has turned his back on us, how he has owed it to us. Nobody ever said he wanted to come to the Dees. He never expressed public interest and put us through a knock out phase ala Judd.

He just is not that good a player. His body is struggling to keep up with modern footy, and cant kick more than 35 metres. Id rather take the gamble on a Ben Griffiths or Vardy if still available.

Agree, who care about Luke Ball? Stuff him!

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
