  1. Tom McDonald Ready to Re-sign

Please don't present speculation as fact, as you did in your previous post. You would be surprised at how quickly garbage can get traction in the cesspit of the football media.

The Granny is the first look I've had because life, but I don't mind it (and not just because Melbourne are in it). Don't know what all the sooking has been about, people are just afraid of things that are a little bit different.
  3. Robbo's Club Ambassador Role.

He's the club's entertainer. He talks easily, has a relaxed manner (compare this to Burgs, for example), and has an easily recognisable face to Demon supporters. I've always thought the club could do better if they got a trained, experienced media pro to help him prepare for his interviews because he'd often ask the players stupid questions, so I've got absolutely no problem with him referring to a notebook during interviews. Don't agree with your view, but don't think you deserved all the flippant replies you got either.
  4. No, I'm not. I was addressing a point someone made about how the club response should vary depending on who the player is. The penalty should vary depending on the gravity and veracity of the allegation.
  5. What? Hell no. The club's position should not vary depending on how good the player is. The club has a difficult decision to make. If facts come to light that suggest the player is in real trouble, he should be sacked immediately, or at the very least, stood down. If it's one of our better players, tough luck. The club simply cannot be seen to overlook an alleged sexual assault just because the accused is good at footy. That's exactly the kind of societal attitude that needs stamping it. It doesn't matter who you are or what your status is: it just isn't acceptable.
  6. It's like whack-a-mole with you lot sometimes. Delete one post as another three appear.
  7. Boot Camp 2017 cancelled by Players

Buck, this is just as much an over-analysis of the situation as those who see it delivering fire and brimstone. It's not going to be the making of great things, it's just a group of adult men exercising their right to abstain from something they think is going to be detrimental to their health.
  8. Boot Camp 2017 cancelled by Players

This strikes me as the kind of thing that will have miffed the coach in the short term but will have been long forgotten by the time January rolls around. The part to me that seems non-ideal is that the players were notified so late, so it was left until the last minute to be dealt with, but it's only a small quibble in the scheme of things. There's room for improvement in the communication between the coaching and playing groups. Panning the players or the club seems unnecessary. Projecting it in to a Neeld like rift between the coaches and players is absurd.
  9. This sounds like a headline directly out of the Betoota Advocate. Footy Player Says New Club Better Than Old Club That Spurned Him.
  10. Demonland YouTube Page

YouTube channel! So when are we moving on from podcasts to a TV style discussion panel? I always thought I had a face for TV.
  11. Hah - @Demonlandis the smooth host with a voice for radio, I'm the yammering nerd who blows in occasionally when they don't have a better guest! (Just jokes - was invited to participate in this one too but life got in the way) The fact that we're both named Andrew probably doesn't help with the confusion 😂
  12. Colin Sylvia

Especially when the journey starts so young. I'm 34, so at the age now where I'd likely have been out of the system for a couple of years now if I'd been a good player in the AFL. I'm at the stage of my life where I am established in my career and financially stable and comfortable, but it took a decade of slog, stress, sacrifice and mental breakdown or two in my twenties to get here. I'm a lot stronger and better placed to deal with life's difficulties thanks to having had to go through the hard way. I can't imagine what it would be like trying to basically start from scratch at this stage now. I realise that for people like Colin much of the struggle is of their own doing for not setting themselves up when they could have, but to me that doesn't dull the empathy for the situation. Most young adults aren't going to appreciate the stress of every day adult life if they're not exposed to it, so I don't blame him or any of them for missing that boat. Psychologically it would now be a struggle. That said, I have no sympathy at all for some of his alleged behaviour. Nothing justifies his reported treatment of his partner for example. He has to own that, and fix it pronto.
  13. Harmes always has that look of a kid pinching himself about where he's landed in life. I reckon he's living the dream 95% of us had growing up - running around in red and blue after spending a life time barracking for them. Love it.
  14. McDonalds @ MFC

Surely we count in seasons. If Junior was on the list in 2010 and TMac came on board in 2011 then that counts as consecutive time I reckon. Anthony McDonald started in 1997, so I'd say we've had a McDonald on the list every season since then.
